The Game Sales and Deals Thread, With No Apologies to Anyone

Windbound is also on sale right now, and it's been in my wishlist for a while;
Anyone have any familiarity with that?
I personally found it a bit too slow and a bit tedious. It's largely from what I played sailing around to small islands and doing some light combat and extremely light puzzle solving? I found the sailing to take way too long.

Not sure if it was pointed out earlier, but the Double Dragon and Kunio-kun Retro Brawler Bundle is on sale for $10. There's a crapton of Kunio games we never got in English, and that's 75% off the usual price! Instabuy for me.

This is absolutely worth it.

Note that said Kunio-kun titles are NOW localized, a huge bonus that Arc System Works didn't have to do for this.

I think the only thing I'd like to do is get them out of there and on an EverDrive or MiSTer, but I think the game may be doing on-the-fly patching, so it's probably harder to get the modified ROMs out. Nintendo did something similar with the release of Fire Emblem for NES, so I'm not sure that's seen a dump, either.

I feel like if they were just ROM images, they'd be out there. Someone hipped me to the translated Seiken Densetsu 3 the day that compilation came out. See also: Dracula X ripped off the PSP disc, etc. I think I heard (on Retronauts, maybe?) that they're patched-on-the-fly, so that would make sense why they're not readily out there.

There is a DLC halloween weapon that has little homing attacks. Combat is very frustrating without that as the combat controls are just kind of weird. I've heard there have been more patches after which might help. I did not bother with the roguelike option and instead did the setting where I keep all my stuff if I died (which I definitely did).

I loved the crafting and cooking and having to be resourceful. The art is beautiful and the story is pretty fun too.

Definitely a good game to get on sale.

Yeah, pretty sure that's exactly what's going on. I found the Trials of Mana ROM almost immediately as well, and I didn't feel bad about snagging it, 'cause I did buy the collection and I actually have the SFC cart... even if I can't understand a lick of it, ha!

Wow, that is quite the set. Would certainly prefer DRM-free, but at that price, I may jump on it anyway.

If it helps, all of the proceeds from that bundle are going towards Direct Relief, Doctors Without Borders, International Medical Corps, and GiveIndia. It's for COVID relief, particularly in India and Brazil.

Klei publisher sale on Steam. If you slept on Mark of the Ninja or Shank I and II, they're super cheap. Even Griftlands, which I think just came out of early access, is on sale.

Ubisoft has a coupon (FORWARD) that discounts $10 off any purchase of $15 or more in their Ubiisoft Connect store. You can use it more than once, and it stacks with their current sale. That means I just got Assassin's Creed Oddysey, a game I've always wanted to try, for $5. And if you want you can grab the base game and season pass for $11 overall.

Cool, snagged it. Thanks for the heads up!

Also, for folks not aware, GOG's Summer Sale is live right now.

I thought this was forever stuck in WiiWare Purgatory, so that was a pleasant surprise.

Yeah, it came out on PC some time ago - I even picked up the physical DVD back in the day. $1.49 is a ridiculously low price and well worth it. Especially for 8-Bit is Enough.

Humble has a Make Your Own 2K Bundle where adding 3 qualifying games to your cart discounts the whole lot deeply. Thing is, Civ3 is one of those games, and adding it actually can potentially discount more than the $1 cost of Civ3, so you can get some good discounts for just two games. I just did this to grab the expansions I missed for XCom2,

(non-coincidentally that also means I have am extra copy of Civ3, free to a good home if anybody wants it)

GOG will be delisting a handful of older EA titles, on Monday June 28th, they are currently deeply discounted ($1.50 each) before they get removed. Syndicate Wars in particular might be worth picking up as it's not available for sale any place, while at least the other two are on EA's own Origin store front. They will remain in your library if you've purchased them:

Ultimate Underworld 1+2
Syndicate Plus
Syndicate Wars
