The Game Sales and Deals Thread, With No Apologies to Anyone

With the Wii U being send to a farm upstate to play with all the other consoles, I probably should look into getting Mario Kart 8 for Switch.

I went with Super Mario 3D World myself, as I've yet to play it. I seriously considered buying Mario Kart 8 Deluxe because of all the new goodies included and the convenience of true portability, but I can settle for plain old Mario Kart 8 on the Wii U. (Not that I've been using that system much.)

I finally gave in and bought MK8D - been playing a lot of the Wii U game with my girlfriend, so the DLC is perfectly timed.

Has anyone played Shadowverse: Champion’s Battle? It looks like the CCG JRPG I’ve been craving for the past 20 years and it’s on sale for the next few hours.

I had a lot of fun playing it, though it tends to be extremely difficult (the AI either cheats or is just hypercompetent) and the story is bland Saturday morning cartoon anime fare.

Ha, I was glancing around the subreddit and they were complaining it wasn’t hard enough. I’m guessing the AI is probably tuned a bit too high for people who’ve already been playing the Hearthstone-alike.

I’m about to fire up the demo. I’ve been dying for a game like this for a while so here’s hoping I like it. Thanks for the input!

Wow there is something particularly bland about a digital card game where all the characters play… a digital card game.

Green Man Gaming is having a Konami Steam Code Sale. Get the Arcade/Contra/Castlevania collections for just over $3/each, some Metal Gear(s), and a Silent Hill Homecoming as dessert.

The Steam versions of NINE of the LEGO games (including DC Super Villains and multiple Marvel games) are a $10 Humble Bundle right now. I'm tempted to buy it just to get the four games I don't already own--my son has been chewing through these things.

OK it is weird how that giveaway is structured. I slid in just barely before the cutoff, but each game is free only if you own the prior game. They brought daily login streaks to a sale! Curse them!

But also right now it's a Picross, which is always good, and one that doesn't penalize misclicks, which I appreciate... but which does have bugged out hint gray-outs which is consistently throwing me the hell off.

Cant speak to anything else here, but Nova is a solid puzzler, especially for the low low price of jothing

We played the Destropolis one yesterday and it's also a solid little shooter. I want to see if there's a way to turn off the level up screen or auto level up because my only complaint is that it shows up to often and halts the action. Free couch co-op shooter, yay!

Probably a little too late for anything good, but Square Enix is basically doing clearance sales on its online store for all its Eidos/Crystal Dynamics inventory.
