The Game Sales and Deals Thread, With No Apologies to Anyone

From my experience with the demo it basically takes the brawler style approach of locking you into a screen until everything is dead, which really kills the pacing for an action platformer.

It's like I get it, they're basically like your 'levels' of a mobile RPG stage, but it never feels all that good.

EDIT: And huh, it's like 99 cents over on Android right now. Sure what they hey, I've made worse purchases with my Google Rewards zenny.

Best Buy has some deep game discounts right now and sent me a $5 coupon so I got Persona 5 Tactica for $5 (already marked down to $10, they stacked). Worth checking out the sale, especially if you have a coupon!

Yeah theyve added that a few months back, I had some friends in Canada who were able to buy a Switch 2 for 20% off a while ago with discounted cards at Walmart, it’s a really good deal if you have the opportunity to do so.
 
Dang, missed it. If this comes back around again, can you use those cards for physical games from the eShop as well, or only digital stuff?
 
Well shoot, I didn't have time to talk to Lumber about this before I left for work and meant to buy these tonight, I missed my own deal! Oh well. And I don't know about the physical games but that would be cool if they did.

I didn’t miss the sale and just tested. I can confirm physical games and things on the nintendo web store can be purchased with your eshop wallet funds. Looks like they just turned that on last fall. Neat!

Great deals, and all time low prices for each of the games. especially for DMC3, which has console exclusive style switching, bloody palace splitscreen coop, and the ability to carry all weapons at once. I think these features can be modded into the PC version but this is the only version of thr game that officially supports them. Do not bother with DMC2 unless you’re interested in a very flawed, short game.

The Witness was fascinating and Bloodstained is a must-play if you liked Symphony of the Night and everything that followed it. And Celeste defined a genre (precision platforming starring a redhead who can air-dash). The only reason I'm not buying this bundle is because I already own most of it.
 
itch.io is running a $10 bundle to build up a Game Industry Hardship Fund, supporting video game devs in the US and Canada who've been laid off. It's organized by the United Video Game Workers-CWA union, but people don't have to be union members to receive help (which is good, because we all know the vast majority of game studios are still unable to unionize).

As someone in the industry, I hope this makes a bajillion dollars so all my colleagues* who've been fired despite working on critically and commercially successful games can keep their lives going.

*I should add: not my personal colleagues, I have yet to see mass layoffs at my company.
