Welcome welcome, one and all, to the Gate-of-Lords-of-Thunder-Force-Dome 2025!

For this Thunderdome, we have 72 wonderful songs from 18 lovely nominators. Let's all give them a nice round of applause!


Those of you at home can follow along with the bracket. I made sure that the bracket was arranged so that nobody would have to endure a self-match before the quarterfinals.

You can also listen to a playlist of all the entries in your spare time, if you feel so inclined. (Keep in mind a couple full-soundtrack videos are included there, because I couldn't find any alternatives for the list v_v.)

As for the rules, they should be familiar to you: Please provide one vote per match. The song with more votes moves on to the next round. Matches last 24 hours, or until I post the next set of matches (whichever is longer). Tiebreakers are resolved on a first-vote basis. And most importantly, SHOOT THE CORE! (That means have fun.)

Match 2​

This second match is a veritable Treasure trove!** @Lokii picked Hitoshi Sakamoto's Impregnable Fortress from Gradius V as his option, while @WildcatJF is bringing some Sin and Punishment: Star Successor with the Menu theme by Norio Hanzawa.

Mustn't allow my own entry to suffer a shut-out. Seaside Drive for the first pair, and Gradius V because the synths really are very juicy.
 
The Last Messiah outruns Seaside Drive, while the Impregnable Fortress proves its continuing might against Sin & Punishment.

"The Concealed Four Seasons" and "Operation 2".

I really can't recommend Someone 45356's channel enough. They do primarily Touhou arrangements in various musical traditions and genres rooted in South and Central American, African and other non-Anglosphere cultures and scenes. Each arrangement has its custom cover art by them too, which is delightful.

As for Soldier Blade, the game was an early-life favourite for me, and much due to its consistently hyper-sentimental soundtrack.
 
Despite the siege, the Sapphire still gleams brightly, and it looks like the Soldier Blade had a cutting advantage.
