Well, another season of the Flash has ended with a general sense of bewilderment and a Bunch of important stuff that was entirely off camera.

Iris‘ main takeaway about dealing with the Four grown-ass adults she decided were actually her kids was to have an actual baby.

Frost fell In love with the evil hunk who framed her for a bunch of murders and also tried to kill her after stealing her DNA

Frost also got exonerated for all the crimes she totally did because she broke out of jail to arrest a bunch of supervillains, which would have been really fun to watch except we were only told that’s what she was doing after the fact.

Im genuinely unsure if Joe was drunk for the entire episode, or if Jesse Martin just had a bad head cold while filming the episode. Also, he decided to quit being a cop for no reason whatsoever. I also genuinely forgot that he had a kI’d until we were assured they had a babysitter.

This show is so dumb, I love it.

Oh man, don't get me started on this. Like, this guy in the last episode, just goes OFF. His whole spiel sounded like textbook, toxic masculinity, gaslighting, sex predator bullshit. When he went off, I was like, "Wow, they aren't being subtle about this guy being a total scumbag. He's like a total caricature." And when Frost decided later she was falling for him I almost threw up on the spot. What a fucking disaster. How have all these Bertlandi shows become so horrid?? 😂 😂 😂

Dude or his production company always checks out completely by the fifth or sixth season if my memories as a teenager and into my early twenties are correct.

Speaking of DC shows in their fifth or sixth season, but which are actually pretty good; the new (final?) season of Lucifer dropped on Netflix.

Which lead me to realize I didn’t finish the previous season; so now I have two seasons of it to watch.

I bet the devil solves mysteries in it!

Apparently it’s not the Sixth Season that just dropped, it’s the Rest of Season Five, because Netflix is gonna be weird like that.

I was barely paying attention by the end of the episode. Dr Fate is here!?!? It's also kinda 🥱 that The Flash in one fell swoop wrote off the only regular Latinx and Asian-American characters on the show. Cool. Good job, Flash. Meanwhile, Cisco leaving the show still makes ZERO sense. Like, it makes sense from an emotional standpoint because he's been nothing but a joyless, miserable curmudgeon for several seasons straight at this point. So if he was a real person, he would definitely need to GTFO of Central City and never look back. But the guy spent the whole last episode being sad and nostalgic about leaving Central City and his friends behind but... he's a hero whose power set is about making instantaneous portals on command to wherever he wants to go. Like, he can move to literally anywhere, and with the flick of his wrists he can be back with Team Flash on demand. It would be infuriating at how stupid this show is if I wasn't just so thoroughly exhausted by its stupidity at this point. 😂

Superman & Lois continues to be... really solid and good! Like, surprisingly so. Everything it's doing with Lois, Clark, their sons, Smallville, Lois's dad, it all works well. Lana's family is kinda hit and miss for me, but it's mostly alright too. This take on Morgan Edge has also been pretty decent too. Turning the character into a Jeff Bezos analog works well, and him being a secret Kryptonian is a really fun twist. I also hope that John Henry Irons comes back sooner rather than later. That also was a really good twist too. So far, live action DC shows (that take themselves seriously) haven't hit this well with me since Arrow S2 and Flash S1.

Batwoman is... getting better. This season in retrospect has been slowly (painfully so) building up to this week's episode where the Crows were finally disbanded. Which is a very good thing! But it took way too long to get to this point. The process from getting from Point A to Point B has been painful, but they're at least at Point B now, so I'm hoping things go well from here. (Not counting on it though.) One thing that does give me hope is that they very recently released some publicity photos and information about how Luke is going to fulfill his destiny eventually and become Batwing. And that actually gets me excited because Batwing is dope AF, and he looks good in the suit too.

Bestill my beating heart!

I assume this means the recasted Kate Kane will become an Oracle-ish figure to replace Luke in the Batcave. Which will be fine. But if she just straight up gets code-named Oracle, I will not stand for this Babs-erasure.

Super Hero Girls Season 2 just started. It's still the same show, which is delightful and endearing. I'm so glad this is getting another season and not unceremoniously put out to pasture. This second season along with the upcoming game gives me hope that this is actually somewhat popular/successful. Which it deserves to be!

WB put out a teaser trailer for DC League of Super-Pets and...

...This is my everything. My immediate thoughts besides being giddy are:

1) Dwayne Johnson as both Krypto AND Black Adam is going to be weird.
2) I can't even imagine Kevin Hart as Ace, but I'm excited to see him try.
3) If there isn't at least one of Isis, or Streaky, or Alfred in this film, I riot.
4) If Dex-Starr isn't in this movie in some capacity, WB is truly the worst film company in the history of man.

Spreading awareness: this game is out, and it is great. Okay, I haven't played enough of it to officially say that it is wholly great, but it has been great so far. It is basically a beat 'em up (with an emphasis on dodging ala Bayonetta of all things) with open world-esque gameplay between missions, and there's a town building simulator thrown in there, too. Very interested in that, but whether it is Simcity or Breath of Fire 2 remains to be seen. In the meanwhile, one mission was literally (playing as) Wonder Woman helping an old lady cross the street, and I am here for that. Mayor Mike Haggar has never, to my knowledge, helped an old lady cross the street as part of one of his games.

I was going to saw "Keanu as Comet please" or "Keanu as Beppo please" but I'm down for this.

This week on Superman & Lois - feels like the season finale. Is it the season finale? It sure felt that way.

Anyways, this week was not a good episode because Kal El's mom inhabited Lana Lane's body, and that has just so many weird implications that made me very uncomfortable.

Psycho Pirate makes way more sense; especially since they also teased him a couple of seasons ago with the Elseworlds crossover.

Which has to be the most obscure “Just for the Fans” cameo appearance ever

This week’s Superman & Lois:
- Superman’s retro outfit is great. Everything from the flat colors to the fake muscles.
- I kinda wish the show was like this on the regular. Metropolis stories.
- That’s not how flamethrowers work.
- There’s just something about the way Tyler Hoechlin smiles that just always feels really genuine. And I think it’s that more than anything that makes him feel like the perfect Superman.
- Superman fucks
- Where were you when we stealth got the sequel to the Snyderverse

Catching up on batwoman, flash and legends.

BATWOMAN is extremely bad, it's obsession with Kate Kane and being topical having both reached new heights of fucking terrible.

FLASH is somehow worse, what with Flash's dead mom coming back as a God who also wants to do murder and an especially tortured parenting metaphor.

LEGENDS actually understands what it is, and that self-knowledge lead them to defeating Alistair Crowley in an animated musical homage to beauty and the beast. It fucking owned.

There was an arc in the comics where Flash had to work as an IRS collections officer because he won the lottery and couldn’t cover the back taxes on his winnings, so nothing is really off the table

Posting once again about DC Super Hero Girls. The game is great, if a bit dated (watch my website for more words! When I write them!). So that got me to watch the "source" show on Netflix. It is... hard to describe, exactly, but I feel like an apt description is that it is a mix of Teen Titans Go, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, and, like, Samurai Jack. There are some genuine, meaningful character moments between the main characters, and the morals are a little more mature than "friendship is good!", which I, an old man watching a children's cartoon, very much appreciate. That said, it is also super irreverent of DC Comics and superheroes in general, and, like in Venture Brothers, that is a deep well of humor. In one episode, Supergirl "dies", pretends to be "Powergirl" to improve her image, and comes up with the concept of "I'm from... uh... Earth... erm... 2?" to which Superman immediately agrees and is like "Oh yeah... uh... Earth 2! Totally been there!" Love it. Five stars. Then they go into language jokes the whole episode with Powergirl repeatedly noting they say things like "irregardless" on Earth 2.

Oh, and the action scenes are really great, too. Just great, frenetic fun all around.

Also, there's an episode where Jessica Cruz tries to find a "forever home" for the meanest cat at the kennel. Cat turns out to be Dex-Starr. Could not recommend this show enough to anyone with a sense of humor.

Oh I love that show. Sorry to hear that Lauren Faust had to walk away from it to work on something else but seemed like that was all amiable.

My daughter is also a fan so I can confirm there is at least one person in the actual target audience who watches it, Cartoon Network, so don’t cancel it.

I know Teen Titans Go! has a mixed reputation, but I love it. The movie won me over bc the Teens were completely deranged murderers but the series has kept my attention bc its middle-age writers can't stop trying to give financial advice to children who will find it inscrutable.
