Eh. Best thing they did was ignore shared universe. The Batman was great, but I bet outside of already happening sequel it's a dead end.

Yeah, considering they are already talking about a new DCEU Batman based on the Morrison run I can't imagine The Batman is going to get a full trilogy treatment like Nolan Batman did.

Mostly I'm not hyped yet for another Batman but I will say if it is tonally like Morrison's Batman and Robin segment of his run with superbright dayglow colours along with weird, unsettling elements, I'm down. That and more sci-fi stuff please. Put Clayface or Man-Bat in my Batman movie.

Gosh all of those projects just sound exhausting to me. I'm sure I'll watch... some of them.
The stated intended pace is going to be 2 films and 2 shows per year, which seems imminently reasonable to me. Although that doesn't include the legacy stuff that they haven't killed off yet. Which, you know they're going to take out back and murder, it's just a matter of time.

I am basically all for what's been announced (Lanterns sounds much less interesting than before, if only because Hal Jordan), but given the way Warner/DC is being run, especially these days, I'll wait until something is actually coming out to be excited.

I mean, I should be excited. Creature Commandos is a great concept. That is an excellent Supergirl story they are adapting, Morrison's Batman is great. I think Peacemaker is likely my favorite DC thing of the last few years. And Booster Gold is basically the hero I want to see get a spotlight the most. But I'm still just cautiously optimistic.

I know people have very understandable problems with Ezra Miller, but I think this trailer looks rad:

I still think it is a mistake to try to Flashpoint or a Flashpoint like story (The Flash ends up in an alternate timeline/universe is a classic Flash story type) as the first movie. Establish the status quo before making a movie about changing it, you know. Still, that looks fun to me.

I'm not so sure. I mean, Gunn may be appearing to keep the door open for Miller's (and other's) return out of a desire to not sink the potential box office of this year's slate of movies, but I would not be surprised if stars of movies coming out this year go on to continue to star as these characters.

I do expect that WB/DC will use this movie like DC Comics used the Flashpoint comic to reset everything, even if the story was not built to support that.

I mean, I feel like this movie was ready for a while. I feel like it's either being repurposed to do that in re-edits/re-shoots or it will introduce a new continuity that will be ignored with the exception maybe with whatever is happening with the Blue Beetle movie in this respect.

Frankly, I feel the movies of DC work better when they aren't nodding toward continuity.

My hope is the new DC movie universe will be like The Suicide Squad, in respect to the fact that it implies there is a pre-established big world of heroes and villains. The fact that the Brave and the Bold is starting with Damien Wayne makes me think this is a strong possibility.

I just want them to make more Aquaman movies with Jason Momoa, because Aquaman fricken rocks and I like it more every time I see it.

In other news, HBO Max released a Harley Quinn Valentine's Day special at some point. I feel bad spoiling any part of it, as the "yes, they are going to do this" is part of the building humor of the episode, but suffice to say that if you have enjoyed the Harley Quinn animated series, this is a must watch.

Okay, just in case someone wants to read a spoiler, yes, Bane is magically transformed to kaiju size, and proceeds to literally fuck most of the Gotham City skyline.. They make it work.

This was a perfect way to spend valentines, thanks for bringing it to my attention. HBO sure didn’t.

So far, Season 9 of The Flash has been okay. It seems like they might actually be doing a season, or at least a part season, dedicated to Flash versus the Rogues. Though a bunch of second tier and replacement Rogues. Of course, this show can't seem to not have an evil speedster, though they ran out of (good) ideas for that character type 6 (?) seasons ago.

I retain a certain amount of fondness for these characters. I hope this last season works out as a suitable farewell to the whole 'Arrowverse'. I got a lot of enjoyment out of these shows over the last decade (wtf?!), for all their warts and CW-ness.

Its not Flash vs The Rogues, its Flash teams up with the Rogues. I mean, a B, or more likely C, team of Rogues, to be sure, but the concept is sound. Would it be better if it was Captain Cold, Heat Wave and Trickster? Yes, absolutely. But this first arc was fine.

I'm watching the first episode of Season 3 of Superman and Lois and I keep forgetting that they replaced one of the super-kids, so every time I see the new actor I just start wondering who this new character is before remembering.

Also, this episode makes it clear that Superman fucks.

The Gotham Knights show started this week. I don't know if I have the heart to give it an honest try, it looks sooooooooooo bad
They made Duela Dent a main character, so my dad gets a check for every episode. I hope they get six seasons and a movie.

Ahahaha holy shit you guys the last season of the flash sucks so bad
I cut bait halfway through Season 9. It was just so bad that I couldn't even hate-watch it anymore; I have better ways to spend my time and energy. If you have a short breakdown on what's happening and why it's bad I would read tf out of that tho.

Also mildly curious how the Gotham Knights show is going, but not enough to actually try it out. That one looks dreadful. Like, worse than Flash and Batwoman dreadful.

Also a Blue Beetle movie is this Summer.
Looks... OK. I remember enjoying the Jamie Reyes Blue Beetle comics I read but I've never had a particularly strong affection for the mythos. But family superhero stuff can be fun.

The only thing that worries me about that Blue Beetle trailer is that I'm afraid that Ted is going to be dead.

I don't need Ted Kord in a Jaime Reyes Blue Beetle movie, but I see various acknowledgements of him in that trailer, and I'm hoping they didn't just take him off the board completely to start out.
