Y'know what? I've kinda poked at this here and there back in the old Forums. But here, I'm gonna embrace my interests. Lets' talk Anime Music Videos!

My first introduction to this vein of fandom was via Otakon, way back when they were still in State College, PA. Admittedly the results can vary in quality. One moment, you're watching badly stitched clips with subtitles still present and the umpteenth rendition of the song/anime du jour, the next a perfect marriage of music and character and OH MY GOD, THEY SYNCED THE LIP FLAPS!
The conjunction of EVA and Linkin Parks's In The End made for some tedious times in '02 & '03, and is also why most cons schedule the Comedy category last. Still, there's musical gold in those digital hills. Share and enjoy!

To start, a comedy favorite featuring Genshiken and Avenue Q,

Stop the Rock is a more typical Music First AMV, using multiple clips to suit the soundtrack. Bit of trivia: the vocalizer Cactaur was a happy accident when the creator discovered how to manipulate the effect during editing the video.

This was always one of my favorites. "Stockholm Syndrome" by Muse meets Last Exile and the result is a very dramatic, emotional, and intense AMV. A very decent effort was made here to match the themes of the animated scenes to those in the song, and the editing job is flawless.

This remains one of my favorite AMVs ever:

It's a super old one, not too fancy with the editing like newer stuff, but it nevertheless times animations with the music very well. And honestly, how can you beat that song/character combo?

Oh and this one's a classic too I guess:

I've never been a huge AMV fan, but Tainted Donuts has always been a favourite, where Spike tries to collect the bounty on Vash the Stampede:

I don't know if this is just me, but I noticed that only JBear and Spoony's videos work. All the rest (including mine) get "video unavailable" when I try to watch them.

Yeah I've been trying to get to the bottom of that myself in the forum bug thread. The current theory is user blocking.

However, as I've stated there, these links work fine in Discord and Steam chat, so I'm not 100% sure about that.
