taking about "gimmicks" for Domes & Top 50s - over the popularity dome

So I was thinking about presentation "gimmicks" (or whatever you want to call them) that are often used for Top 50s and rarely used for Thunderdomes. (I think I'm about the only person who has ever really used a gimmick or schtick for their domes.)

So are they necessary? No. Just a straight presentation of the popular ones (or 50 or however many end up on the final list) or the dome matches is perfectly fine. Domes and popularity contests are already enough work just at a bare minimum. But if someone wants to go the extra mile to spice up their presentation then that's great.

(My abandonded gimmick idea for my CoversDome was to make it like the CruisingDome but have it presented by radio station KOVR - All covers, all the time. Since it was similar and I couldn't think of a good way to present myself that matched the gimmick I decided to drop it.)

I think that if you can pull it off a gimmick is worth it. There's a reason the Top 50 Tabletop Games is a thing of legend.

Now if you are thinking of adding a gimmick to your Dome/Top 50 then you might already have an idea but if inspiration strikes you later in the process and you don't mind adapting on the fly then you can always add or expand gimmicks.

That was the case for the Crustidigitation! North American Tour concept in the Top 50 Sandwiches presentation. I was inspired to add it based on nataeryn's idea about the theme for the restaurant. It was a lot of work to add to the process but I thought it was a fun and interesting addition.

Maybe Crustidigitation is like a walking pub on feet like Baba Yaga's house or maybe its just a door that takes you to a pocket dimension

(Also, was that a pita pocket dimension?)
