I was not expecting to get Mario Odyssey in a 3D World port, but this is apparently what I received.

Well I knew i was getting this bc Mario was a pretty little kitty cat but how was I to know he would be a big kitty cat, unless that is not new either? Wonderful.

Looks like a single world, with perhaps a remixed night version after Bowser awakens and goes on a rampage. So I guess my big question is now the size of that world?
It looks like a 2 player mode to me. Like the second player shooting stars in Galaxy.
It looks fun, but I'm going to curb my expectations from what was shown to expect this is sort of a single-sitting side remix. Open, but not expecting a huge area either.
Still a fun bonus on top of an already superb game leaving me with really only one reason left to turn on my Wii U from time to time.

I am so ready to finally play this game. Only a month to go! When the first trailers were coming out, someone did a comparison and it seemed like the Switch port ran notably faster? I'm curious to see whether that will be the case with the release version, not that I would even be able to tell the difference.

Er, yeah. A big, free-roaming level in the 3D World style sounds interesting, but if I can only roam around it as Mario (and the only multiplayer just casts the other player as an assistant), that deflates my interest quite a bit. I hate to be a downer, but I this trailer just made me wonder if I even need to bother.
It looks fine to me? Honestly I wasn't expecting much other than a little more game to play attached to an already pretty big game so if this is just some kinda weird stealth demo for Super Mario 3D Odyssey or whatever I'm okay with that.
Do hope there's at least a way to play as the other characters, though. Not expecting 3D World-ish multiplayer for this side mode but it'd be a shame if I couldn't play as someone else eventually.

I honestly thought it was going to be a standalone Odyssey expansion from the video, yeah. The world design is way more Odyssey than 3D World's more constrained courses.
They took out the multiplayer? What the fuck?

Are you talking about the main game? That has online multiplayer now. This new content we don't know but it has an entirely new gameplay style that doesn't look conducive to the multiplayer style of the main game
Count me in among those bothered that Bowser's Fury seems to omit one of my favorite parts of 3D World: playing as other characters.

That's kind of the point of a leitmotif, though, that you can remix it for a specific character or thing in different styles depending on what is happening to them.
But I'll echo what others say, this looks different than what I was expecting. We wrung Super Mario 3D World dry in my house and this doesn't really seem to bring that same energy. It looks pretty fun, but not really enough for me to plop down the cash to buy that game again.

That's pretty much where I'm at. I would absolutely give Nintendo some money for Bowser's Fury on it's own, even if it is a much smaller game. But I don't want to buy 3D World at full price again.
