I spent some money! For as important as it is for me to support artists financially, there are times when I'm tempted by cheaper ways of getting certain recordings, like buying them on iTunes. I make a point of reminding myself that, with Bandcamp, most or all of the money I'm spending goes directly to artists I love. Which is good to keep in mind, especially when Cormac Begley wants 20 frickin' Euros for a DIGITAL copy of his latest album. But I did it, I bought the thing, so let's hope it's good.

Oh sweet, I'll buy a Cannons album on there I've been meaning to get.

If you're using the Bandcamp app and you download music, where do the files go on a phone? They're not in downloads like when I downloaded them on desktop and I want to add my COE33 soundtracks to my regular player.
 
Bandcamp Friday is back this month, and this Friday (the 6th)! I had something I wanted to buy but I can't remember what it was. Good thing I've got three days to think about it.
 
I'm sure everyone will be shocked to learn that I bought one game soundtrack (BALL x PIT) as well as two albums of traditional Irish music.

If you weren't buying Irish music, I'd be doing a wellness check.

I bought: Aesop Rock's surprise release from last fall I Heard It's a Mess There Too, Chat Pile's new Sub Pop EP Masks, and the Durutti Column's recently remastered Return of the Durutti Column (which is the album I couldn't remember in my last post). Pretty good!
 
Sadly, I'll be away from my computer on Friday, and you can't buy albums (as least from what I've seen) through iOS because of the extra fees Apple charges. That's OK, I bought a whole bunch of albums over the last couple Fridays and I didn't actually have all that much on my list right now.

I am not familiar with this band, but that first preview track rocks. Might have to look into these guys.

Anyway, I preordered Spencer Krug's upcoming album like I threatened to do a month ago. I also picked up the very small discography (one album + collected singles and b-sides) of Swiss new wave/post-punk band Grauzone, because I discovered Eisbär at some point over the past year and it made me want to hear more.
 
It's been a couple of months, but the next Bandcamp Friday is coming up on August 7th. I'm gonna be away on vacation at the time, so hopefully posting this will remind me not to miss it while I'm gone.

I haven't listened to it as much as I'd like to, but it's a good entry in the canon. If you, like me, enjoy when he gets into songs about writing songs and self-referential cryptic autobiography, you'll probably enjoy it too!
 
Today's the day, I'm on my last day of vacation but I remembered! Not gonna add links since I'm on my phone but I picked up the new Mountain Goats album and preordered Chat Pile's new one that comes out next month. Pretty unsurprising purchases from me. I'm also thinking about looking into the Uranium Club discography but that will probably have to wait until I'm home and browsing on desktop again.
 
Ah thank you for the reminder! Picking up a few:

This chiptune instrumental track which the artist Condard released after people called out how great it was on this rap track (which I also have, lyrics are a fantastic takedown of toxic masculinity)

Nu Delhi by Bloodywood which is doing well for me in the non-English thunderdome. I thought I already owned it, but apparently own other songs on the album, not that one.

And the new Boards of Canada album that came out end of May.
 
Hey guess what! This Friday, September 4th, is another Bandcamp Friday. My last post reminded me that I still need to check out Uranium Club, this seems like a good excuse.
