January means many things but none more important than the fact that it is National Soup Month.

...

OK, that's probably way down the list of important things that happen in January but why should we let that get in the way of making a silly little thread about soup?

So do you like soup? If you do then what are some of your favorite soups?

Happened to see this thread after just today having a delicious Thai curry soup at a local bakery. Also had a great curried sweet potato one recently from a German place nearby. Purely coincidental but I guess it’s curry soup month for me.

I liked soup OK growing up but rarely ever sought it out as an adult. That all changed when I started wearing braces as an adult. Soup was a nice change of pace, something I could have and the cafeteria at the place I worked had soups du jour.

Potato cheese (or stuffed baked potato) and broccoli cheese are usually my go-tos. I've had potato leek on occasion.

One of the best soups I've ever had (but only ever had once) was a cream of carrot soup with lobster that was the soup du ... mois at a local Italian restaurant.

I love soup. Well, good soup. It's easy to fuck up a soup by making it too salty or watery but it's also an easy meal to make. Cook some onions/carrots/celery, add the broth and whatever veggies I have laying around and some rice and chopped up sausage.
