Sony's PSP: Hellz Yeah

PSP Go is... weird. I cannot figure out how to get Popsloader to work. I can select a Pops version by holding R, but nothing changes (it doesn't seem to load the old Pops version).

Now that is weird. Huh. I assume you've got all the old Pops versions in the seplugins folder?

I think so? I downloaded v4 of Pops and I think it has all the necessary files? I don't know if there's something separate I'm supposed to download, and all the documentation I can find is old and for regular (non-Go) PSPs, as far as I can tell...

I should also mention that I've edited the .txt file to have ef0:/seplugins/popsloader/popsloader.prx 1 which is PSP Go only, according to this site.

Ys Chronicles also crashes when I pick Ys 1 or 2 from the in-game menu, so that's a fun problem, also lol

Depends on where you got your Popsloader from, it often doesn't come bundled with all the files.

Got my microsd card attachment/convertor, formatted the card, put everything on it. It works great! It even fits better in the case compared to LGR - no bulge and everything fits great, probably because I snipped the plastic off the bits I was supposed to and filed away what was left.

Ys 1 and 2 Chronicles works great off the micro sd card, by the way! It must be something to do with the weird internal hdd on PSP Go. I'm tempted to try reinstalling POPS and trying Dragon Warrior VII again... although I doubt it'll work still lol

EDIT: Also, custom firmware allows connecting to more advanced wifi, so I can now connect to my router as usual without having to turn my phone into an unencrypted hotspot, so that's nice. This allows me to download the various PS1 games I've purchased over the years more easily (and, it appears, a little quicker than my phone hotspot), which is nice, because I don't feel like making PSX2PSP eboots, and they are frustratingly (but understandably) rare online these days.

Congrats on that working out! I’ve been tempted to get an adapter at some point for my Go and hearing that you didn’t have the same issues as LGR makes me tempted to buy and install one someday!

It's an incredibly easy install - I do think the key to not having any bulging is to file down the snipped off bits, particularly on the backplate. I did my best with the back of the thumbstick, but only clipped off pieces of that because I didn't want filing dust to get into the mechanism, and evidently did good enough to where there's no bulging haha. It's a very easy mod, give it a shot!
