Well, if anyone wants to start their own custom game stand and cover business, I can recommend several good desktop-sized CNC machines for small-scale manufacturing. ;)

I didn't even know they made those 3DS LL and Vita docks.
The New 3DS line got a family of docks in Japan; they're pretty simple but elegant, you stand the console on its hinge and it charges through pogo pins touching the contacts on either side of the port.

The Vita one is more obviously a kludge and I think the brushed metal aesthetic is extremely dated for anything besides appliances, but to be frank, it's the only Vita dock that looks any good at all. There's apparently a less common one for the PCH-2000 model too, since that just uses Micro-USB. It looks nicer but it's a Micro-USB dock; it's everyone's least favourite connector.

I'd also love to find the official PSP 2000/3000 charging dock, but they're incredibly rare and expensive so I've long since decided it's just not happening.

Aaaaaand while my officially licensed third-party one is fine, I really like the aesthetic of the first-party Dualshock 4 charger, so that's kind of been a beige whale of mine for a while.

I will stop talking about charging docks now.

Finally found some speakers that are shielded, small, fit with my aesthetic, and honestly sound pretty good with the various systems I have hooked up to my CRT - Bose Companion 2 Series II from 2010 or so. Have some decent bass and can get pretty loud - enough so that the scanline flickers a bit if it's too loud and the bass hits lol. Got some stands for them, too, since space is increasingly at a premium on my entertainment center:

As you can see, the right one is a bit dented, but that's just aesthetics - it sounds good and doesn't seem to be functionally damaged. That's why I got the set for $25, I think lol. I may put some other stuff up there with the speakers, assuming it looks good, since I've got plenty of room on those stands (they were far bigger than I thought they were gonna be).

I also finally grabbed a stereo out cable for my Genesis/32X so the speakers don't output in mono - this cable runs all the way to the second input on the speakers:

I wish the headphone out was in the back of the Genesis, but oh well, it sounds great!

Asked my wife to make some simple wood platforms for my speakers so it doesn't look so goofy like above, and this is what she turned out:

I like it! Not sure if I want to paint the wood black though (or stain it black, whatever, I'm not a woodworker lol). Thoughts?

Gotcha. Yeah, my wife's argument for it was A. it matches the closet door stain, and B. we already had that stain lol. Fair enough!

All that work my wife did (and the cost of the stands!) was worthless now that I randomly found a 27'' Sharp with composite, component (!), and s-video input that fits my setup perfectly:

$75! Not bad for a TV like this, which looks incredible (in person. I think this photo looks alright but in person, this picture POPS and I'm very, very happy with it):

But yeah, had to move the speakers and take down the stands, because while I could fit the stands with this TV, the speakers themselves would then be too close to the tube and cause interference. Up where they are now, though, the picture gets zero interference whatsoever:

I may do some reorganizing later. The speaker cable running behind the painting looks kind of jank but it's better there than in front of it lol. Only thing I need to do is get an extension cable for my Genesis stereo out - the cables are too short to reach the speaker way up there. Other than that it's good to go.

...now what the heck do I do with my old set? lol I guess I'll sell it. I don't have anywhere else to put it and there's really no reason to have two. I may have to borrow my wife's FB page to put it on marketplace there, as I don't really want to ship it...

Gorgeous. 27" is probably the ideal size to weight ratio. I like my 32", but good night is it a giant pain to move. Also, congrats on finding a set that has all the major analog inputs!

Yeah, this one I can juuuust about move on my own. Was able to get it inside, up the stairs, and off the ground and into it's current position without assistance. Any heavier and I'd probably need help. In college I had a 32 inch Sony set (which I don't miss, because in addition to its weight, it only had composite inputs), and it took two people to move that stupid beast.

And thanks! I think I have component cables for a Wii somewhere, so I may dig that out and see what that looks like at some point. I don't really have anything else that outputs component though, I don't think. At least, if I do, I don't have the cables.

Wii over component looks really nice. Well, anything does. If you want some really nice component cables, HD Retrovision has some really good ones, although again if you've got S-Video I don't think you need to upgrade that badly. I did get some for my Genesis and Saturn for an alternate setup that only has component and composite and it looks really good, though.
