Several Topics Enter, One Topic Leaves: The Thunderdome Nomination Thread

Super Mariodome.

We did a great Mariodome already but that was focused on the Mario games. This is about the expended Mario-verse. The Sports games, the Luigi games, the Peach games, the Wario games, the Yoshi games. Also, the movies and TV series. Pretty much anything of the Mario franchise.
 
The One-Off Dome, for songs that are singular originals. Submissions must meet the following criteria:
  1. The song must originate from a video game
  2. No remixes or rearrangements may be submitted
  3. The song itself must never have been rearranged or remixed in any other video game in an official capacity.
With the following clarifications for edge cases:
  1. If the original game was remade, and the song rearranged for the remake, that rearrangement does not disqualify the song (but you have to use the original version)
  2. Rearrangements used in the same game don't disqualify the song (and you can choose any of them)
  3. If the song was reused virtually unchanged in another game, that doesn't count as a rearrangement or remix
  4. If the game was released on several different platforms at about the same time, with different audio between them, you can use any of those releases
  5. Songs are not disqualified by being quoted in a medley or through the reuse of a leitmotif
Participants are expected to check each others' submissions for eligibility, and provide evidence of disqualifying arrangements of rivals' submissions. It is a good thing if someone disqualifies one of your submissions, because you've learned of a new-to-you arrangement of a song you already like.

Interesting. I was going to suggest something similar but different: Internationaldome (including English language countries). However, under the circumstances, I'm going to pivot to...

Localdome. Music from YOUR area. I'll allow you to go as far as your state, province, etc but try to keep it relatively close to home.

I like the non-english one, or maybe something like, international covers dome?
 
Ah, a trip down memory lane to my own ‘dome. (I think the only one I ran? I’ve done several Top50s but I think just the one dome.) Anyway I wouldn’t be opposed to seeing it run again, lots of great stuff out there, but cross-language covers or the Local idea would also both be cool.

Here's how this works, if you are new to this
1) We are given a topic, usually musical in nature, though someone is offering a different idea.
2) People are invited to submit songs or musical pieces or entries they like that fit the topic before a deadline (you may be told the limit of how many you may submit and it is not uncommon for that number to grow during this process)
3) The entries are randomized and pitted against each other where you must choose (usually) one of the two songs. Usually its two matches a day. Just pick the ones you like best from the two matches.
4) This goes on...
