The Snowman is one of the great children's books, a silent comic about a boy and his snowman having a fun and magical evening and When the Wind Blows is a brutal, heartbreaking comic about nuclear holocaust and a human mentality completely unprepared for the reality of it, thanks in no small part to the propaganda of the people in charge.

For a while I had the theory that every single library in Sweden had a copy of When the Wind Blows (translated into Swedish) stuffed away somewhere, since I kept running into it whenever I went to a library. Definitely a haunting, extremely darkly humorous book that has left an impression on me.
