Character actor Charles Grodin passed away at 86 yesterday. He was best known for his comedic work in films such as the classic The Heartbreak Kid, the family hit Beethoven, the beloved action comedy Midnight Run, and the bizarre cult comedy Clifford. But to me, I'll best remember him as the guy who antagonized the muppets in the Great Muppet Caper.

I used to think of Grodin as "guy who plays angry jerks" but I kind of see now he actually has a presence that reminds me of Steve Martin, very faux and winking "aw shucks"-ness.
