Did you know they made a sequel to last decade's Nintendo Quest??? Now it's 14 episodes of material instead of a 90-minute movie!
Link here on like Roku, if it works
I watched like two episodes of the start and three at the end and it's pretty similar to the last outing.
Which, to me, was pretty cringe.
Like last time, our hero Jay barely goes south of the Canadian/USA border as he demands lower than eBay prices from brick and mortar stores. And if they don't give in? He can give everybody this story about his deceased mom and how this collection is going to be auctioned off to a charity. At least this time he sounds more confident at the stores.
One thing that annoyed me was the money involved. They raised $33,000 (US) on the Kickstarter, right? And $15,000 of that is on the games? But in episode 12 they are saying they have only 3 games left to buy and $5,000 for it, then a few minutes later at the Phoenix Game On Expo they are all panicking that they have only $1,000?
I guess that's why they barely mentioned prices in Nintendo Quest.
But to it's credit, the show looks pretty professional, it tries to teach a little about the wonders of the Nintendo 64 and the most in-demand games, and the sound is quite hearable, even at crowded convention halls. And they got some short interviews from people who actually worked on N64 games (and of course, sigh, interviewing youtube grifters for material).
