Okay so this is probably old news to everyone but me since I'm not on the internet as much, but Nickelodeon streamed an NFL game? And added slime cannon overlays? What?

This is wonderful. I actually do think it's neat that the first clip explains what the Red Zone is and stuff. There are so many football terms an "intro" stream with some more basic explanations would be a neat idea. I haven't seen more than these clips so I'm not sure if that was the tone of the stream or not.
there was a lot of that going on. I saw some clip where after a false start they had some relatively famous child actor come on and explain what it meant.
i didn't watch it live, but I would if they streamed again. even though the purpose seems to be explaining things for new viewers, that little bit of visual flair seems like a lot of fun.

Both games today yesterday were just awful. Matt LaFleur should be fired by the time I wake up, that decision to kick a field goal at the end of the game was unconscionable.

Feel very strongly about the chiefs going into it. Offense finally clicked like they had been early in the season, and brady looked very rough in the game. Green bay's secondary is better than the chefs, but not by much, and brady was throwing into coverage, letting his cast make plays, a lot. I'm not sure it's sustainable.

Neither team has much to lose and were stuck in a rut with their former QBs. Might as well see if a change of scenery/pace could get success out of them elsewhere.
I can understand the reasoning. The Rams are mostly a complete team that can win now and Stafford is the better QB. Meanwhile, the Lions need more pieces to make a real run, and by the time they have those pieces Stafford might be in decline from age, whereas Goff has more time left.
Furthermore, the Lions are getting 1st round picks in 2022 and 2023, so if Goff doesn't look good this year they can try another QB. Hell, they don't even have to go with Goff as their starter this year- they draft 7th this year and might be able to get a QB they like there, in which case Goff can serve as either a back-up plan or trade bait.

Well, the Lions got three more draft pick to waste.
NBC was supposed to have the Super Bowl this year, but CBS bought the rights from them this year for a hefty sum in a move that I've heard several sports writers question as baffling. And I think I figured out the reason why...:

Not watching the Super Bowl proper, but checking out the score feed this game has been so one-sided.
Jeep wants us to meet in the middle with conservative Christian America on whether it sucks, or is the best SB ever.

There isn't even anything interesting left to say about Tom Brady anymore because nothing else that can happen on the field is going to affect his legacy. He's already proven he's the best QB in history, and nothing that could have happened today would have changed that. You think that if Brady had thrown 5 INTs, 0TDs, and the Bucs got blown out worse than the Broncos 7 years ago, it would have changed his place in NFL history? No chance.

I dunno, I think it’s pretty remarkable and impressive that he won a SB at such a ridiculously advanced age, while not being coached by Belichick. Football is such a team sport and coaching is so important that a lot of detractors could and would reasonably argue that his greatness was more due to playing for one of the best coaches in NFL history. And winning with a completely different team and coach (at 43 yo no less when most of his peers are long retired) is a big deal. And he did it in a way where he was leading the team versus the team dragging him to a victory despite being washed like Peyton Manning’s second title. It’s definitely impressive.
This game though was mostly a tale of O-Lines/secondaries. Mahomes was left out to dry. His O-Line was basically wet toilet paper, and Mahomes was statistically pressured more than any QB ever in a Super Bowl. Brady on the other hand was only pressured three times all game. Chiefs O-Line should feel ashamed of how they let their QB down, because he was scrambling and running for his life every play and was still nailing targets all the way down-field in the face that game. Pretty brutal stuff.

Yeah, the thing that really stood out to me from what I saw before switching to the Puppy Bowl (zero regrets) was that, on what felt like almost every play they each did, Tom Brady could calmly stand in place and leisurely look around before throwing an unhurried perfect pass; meanwhile Mahomes was, within a second of the snap, being chased 10 yards or more like a fox fleeing a pack of braying hounds before frantically throwing a jumping bomb that only sometimes ended up near his inevitably double-covered receivers. I dunno if that's O-Line and/or coaching, but it was a pretty drastic mismatch.
