Football 2022: Time Makes Fools of Us All

Maybe starting sports back up in the mddle of a pandemic was a terrible idea.
NBA/WNBA/MLS/NHL all ran successful bubbles. Baseball has had a few hiccups, but they're largely ok because the nature of that sport is just nobody standing near anyone most of the time anyways. But Football is in this unique position in team sports where there's just way too many players on each team, and they're just completely all over each other and in each other's faces while they play and practice. There's just way too many variables and proximity to guard against. We're already seeing cancelled NFL games; NCAA is going to be a shit show in contrast, I dunno what these college presidents are thinking. I do know what they're thinking: it's $$$$$ over the lives of their students.

Nick Mullen threw one of the worst interceptions I've ever seen tonight. I actually feel kind of bad for the guy. It can't feel good to be benched for C.J. Beathard.

Hindsight is 20/20 and all but can’t say I agree with old Zimmer’s call to nicely hand the ball back to Russell Wilson with a lead of only 5 and 2 minutes left on the clock.

I am usually an advocate of going for it on fourth and short. But unless there is something wrong with the Vikings' kicker, I can't understand the reasoning for not kicking that field goal. 8 points guarantees that you won't lose in regulation. You still need a stop, but that stop can either be on the drive or on the make or break 2-pt attempt. And even if you fail both times, the game goes to overtime and you still have a chance.

Also, the refs got the call wrong on the last play. I don't think it would have mattered, but that was absolutely an incomplete pass, not a fumble.

The Vikings offense had been tearing through Seattle the whole game- I understand the decision to run the ball there. Sometimes even when you make the right decision, the other team just beats you on the play.

Also it's not like FGs are automatic either, as we should be well aware of from a certain other Seattle/Minnesota game from a few years back.

Oh we would have definitely missed that field goal.

they should have convinced him to retire and resigned teddy. If ive said anything since he was in college, it's that he's the truth. Truly believe he reads a D better than probably any other QB in the league.

Whelp, Niners aren't dead yet. They still have a rough schedule ahead of them.

Either way, today was pretty good for the Seahawks- they extend their NFC West lead and with GB losing, they are the only undefeated team left in the NFC.

God that ending infuriated me. I would have been perfectly fine with a tie after the missed FG.

The Seattle Seahawks defense is pretty bad y'all.
Meybe so, but Arizona is also pretty darned good too. I'm thinking Kyler Murray might have made a good decision to stick with football.

NFC West is a friggin' slaughterhouse. It's not fair to be a team in that division when there's the NFC East out there.

Glad the Seahawks finally got a somewhat comfortable win.

Anyway, DK Metcalf is pretty amazing it's wonderful for Wilson to finally have a receiver like that.

Hes not really metcalf, but doug baldwin was criminally underrated. I really don’t understand why he was looked as lower quality because the numbers love him. Actually one of the beat receivers in the league for a few years

Dougie will forever be one of my all time favorite Seahawks. It sucks injury kept him from completing his career.

Right now it looks like the 1 seed in the NFC will be Seattle, Green Bay, Tampa Bay or Arizona. Minnesota, New Orleans and Los Angeles are also possible though.

Honestly really tragic that they fired Caldwell after 4 decent seasons, 2 of them with playoff appearances, only to get so much worse since.

That it is still considered a high prize to pluck from the Belichick coaching tree has convinced me that most NFL GMs lack basic pattern recognition.
