I have condensed the introduction from the old thread, if you need bringing up to speed:

When SNK ported Samurai Shodown 2019 to the Switch late last year, it was accompanied by an unexpected pre-order bonus: a Switch port of Samurai Shodown! 2 for the Neo Geo Pocket Color, the first-ever official rerelease from SNK's celebrated but short-lived handheld. Then, in April, they dropped a similar surprise: a stand-alone rerelease of the cute 'n' comical SNK Gals Fighters. And just yesterday, they revealed that they're going to keep the NGP titles coming, now under a unified banner similar to your Sega Ages, Arcade Archives, and ACA NEOGEO: "NEOGEO POCKET COLOR SELECTION."

It appears every title will carry forward the features of the existing releases, including the following:
  • A+ emulation by Code Mystics
  • Rewind
  • Screen frames depicting a selection of NGP models, with functioning buttons using the Switch's touch screen
  • The ability to freely scale the game screen
  • An optional LCD screen filter
  • A high-res scan of the game's manual
  • The Japanese version of the game (including an equivalent scan of the Japanese manual)
  • Local multiplayer with a cute "cocktail" display option for the Switch's handheld mod

First of all: As always, play Gals Fighters.

Sara ni! Today SNK producer Oda revealed that the latest addition to the series is The Last Blade: Beyond the Destiny:

Beyond the Destiny is a pocket-sized adaptation of both main titles in the Last Blade series, as the SNK wiki describes:

The game initially begins as a normal adaption for the first game. When players finish a story with a character, they are awarded a certain amount of points. As players collect points, they can purchase several features such as endings, characters, or mini-games. Through this process, they can change their game into the sequel and experience different endings during each play.

And it will become available...today! As in "right now." My, it's been quite a day.

Great news, and it's not even the only Last Blade announcement shared today: a character from the series was reported (in the video linked above) to be joining the cast of Samurai Shodown as an additional fighter. Almost makes one conjure up the unthinkable sentiment in "what a time to be a Last Blade fan."

Oh, definitely. MotM is easily one of the best "chibi" fighters I've played. I'm lucky enough to have it for my NGPC, and I put a ton of time into it.

This will very likely be the first of these NGPC rereleases I'll actually buy. Wasn't really into the mostly fighter-centric lineup of the Neo Geo Pocket Color, but the Capcom crossovers are a different story.

Just hope we'll see the card RPG and some of the other non-punchy games eventually.

We need some Faselei!, stat.

But yes, MotM! Fantastic stuff! I... think I might even pull out my NGPC and give it a run. :)

It's incredible that this is really happening.

The Neo Geo Pocket Colour deserved to do a lot better than it did. It was fantastic hardware with fantastic games. I'm not sure what else they could have done...

MotM is the only fighting game that I played only single player, but played a lot. It’s really freaking good.

Honestly, even with the best battle plan, Pokemon was an unstoppable juggernaut. Nintendo was vulnerable for just a bit there, with their aging hardware, right up until they blasted off at the speed of light.

The hardware really was solid, though. The clicky-stick takes some getting used to, but it really is nice. I'm also floored that it gave us a tremendous portable Sonic game.

(Also, side note, why is the board inserting a line break after Pokemon? Weird.)

More RPGs and third party support in general probably would've helped it out a bit. I mean, the NGPC had some amazingly animated fighters, but such a huge fighting game focus isn't so hot on a handheld platform with additional hoops to jump through just to play a two-player game.

RPGs are probably the main weakness, but the catalogue is way deeper than just fighting games. I wish it had been a real competitor to the GBC, I'd loved to have seen what games were coming next.

On the other hand, by only lasting as long as it did it may very well have had the highest concentration of hits of any platform, ever.

This news and thinking back on how much I loved the NGPC and regret selling off my collection has me reeeeal close to starting a collection back up again. Especially with Analogue Pocket on the horizon.
