Move over Smash, I main Reptar now! Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl

Becksworth

Aging Hipster Dragon Dad

I’m surprised no has posted this yet, as it seems like the talk of the internet. Ludosity, makers of Slap City are developing this, so it’s a team with Smash-like cred working on it. That said, the TMNT Smash-like game in the Wii had actually ex-Smash devs developing, and it ended up merely okay, impart to it being rushed out the door. I’m cautiously optimistic optimistic, but we will see.

Also where is my Pinwheels rep on here? They are the Game & Watch of Nick.

It’s an impressive roster, for sure, and probably too large for a new fighting game. Though honestly put Zim in anything and I’ll immediately get interested.

I like how many secondary and tertiary characters there are, some as the sole representative of their series. Helga is definitely the character you want in a game like this.

I was happy to see Powdered Toast Man in here. I know, I know, but I still have fond memories of Ren and Stimpy as a breath of fresh air in early 1990s cartoons, and the muscular mascot of a highly improbable instant breakfast still makes me chuckle.

Here's what I'm hoping will be included in the game:
El Tigre
Rocko (guess that's just about necessary)
Jenny/XJ-9 (from My Life as a Teenage Robot)
The Flesh (he's super strong... and super naked!)
Vendetta (from Making Fiends. She makes fiends!)
Jimmy Neutron (or maybe Carl, as a joke character)
The Angry Beavers (fighting in tandem, natch)
Aang (maybe Sokka, I dunno. Someone from Avatar)
Garfield...? (I mean, hey, he's Nick's property now, and he's orange)
Little Bear (okay, that's just me wanting some bear representation)
some damn real voices this time, because Game Mill's Nick racing games didn't have them

As for bosses, maybe combine villains from two of the series. Plankton and Silver Shell for that double Sheldoned-in goodness! Shredder and Vexus as a samurai... pharaoh... Borg queen thing! Also, there needs to be some of Nick's game shows as levels, particularly Guts and Legends of the Hidden Temple.

Watching the trailer I was sure I saw Jigglypuff in a blink-and-you'll-miss-it cameo, crawling back up onto a ledge.

Rewatching and focusing on that, no, it turns out it was just Lincoln Loud's big round head that, in a brief flash of peripheral vision, looked like that other character from that other mascot platformer.

Bump the rating up to T for Teen so we can get Really Really Big Man and his nipples of the future.

@DemoWeasel already mentioned Artie the Strongest Man in the World, which is an A+ suggestion.

Other Potentially Fun Inclusions:
- Alex Mack, just oozin' all over the place
- Cosmo and Wanda a la Ice Climbers
- The Giant Gross Ear from Double Dare as a stage hazard
- Face from Nick Jr
- Catdog, and you get to switch between which half you're controlling.

Quailman's there too, but I dunno how fun he'd be.

It baffles me that all of these cartoons from when I was a teenager are culturally relevant still again.

Helga over Arnold is an inspired choice.
Jimmy Neutron (or maybe Carl, as a joke character)
If judged solely by the meme-factor, the best Jimmy Neutron rep would be Jimmy's dad (Hugh Neutron).

They're going to milk the reveals just like Smash. Even if that wasn't the plan before after this blew up on social media they'd be foolish not to.

Anyway we all know who needs to be in. He's already been in a bunch of video games too so it's a perfect fit.

It just makes sense.

put that sexy cat from the fairly odd parents dog spy show in it

(my nephews used to watch it, i don't remember it's name, i'm not googling it, but there was an Emma Peel looking cat sidekick character and I was like HELLO)

Powdered Toast Man or Michelangelo main here

Although I'd like Ren and Stimpy as an Ice Climbers deal

I think that would be Kitty Katswell from TUFF Puppy.

that's the one. I liked the villain in that too, the rat. the only joke I remember is him burrowing into a mint (as in money) and going "hey, there are no mints here! (disgusted) only money"

well, I laughed.

i lied. I knew the name of the cat the whole time. I was pretending I didn't so people wouldn't judge me. but I knew the whole time. sorry.

Whereas I'm apparently slightly too old for the target audience, because outside the Turtles and I guess Zim (and Spongebobs that I know just due to cultural ubiquity) I recognize hardly any of these characters. I mostly watched Nick in the 80s.

If you put in, like... Danger Mouse and Inspector Gadget and Duckula and Mr. Wizard and a bunch of green slime, *then* you'd be hitting my buttons. (Though who knows, maybe some of that stuff will show up.)

I don't know if it's toons only, but crossing my fingers for Artie the Strongest Man in the World.
Wow, you just don't care about game balance at all, do you? Or would this be like one of those things where they throw Goku into fighting games where everyone else is like, Yamcha and Bulma and we just ignore everyone's real power levels?

He's boss material, obviously.
It would be pretty hilarious to see a wiry redhead kick the butts of everyone he comes across. Looks as wimpy as Norimaru, destroys you like Gill!

I'd be willing to settle for Iggy Pop as Nona's dad, then. Or Alanis Morissette from You Can't Do That on Television.

Yeah, I don't recognize most of these either. Fun idea though. Hell yes to Danger Mouse though.

I don't think Nickelodeon owns any of those cartoons, and Mr. Wizard is live action. The focus definitely seems to be on Nicktoons, and those only go back so far.

Now that I think of it it's actually kinda weird how many deep cuts are in that trailer. Like, Aaahh!!! Real Monsters has been off the air since '97. Ren and Stimpy ended in '96 but I'm sure that stuck around in reruns for a bit. If the audience is the current Nickelodeon audience none of these make any real sense I don't think. Are they all from the 90s?

Phantoon

Yeah, no chance for Danger Mouse to be in this, it's not a Nickelodeon property. On the plus side, the new cartoon is pretty good, and Duckula is in it from time to time.
