Did... did the snake slither off afterwards, or did it just, ah, "harden" permanently after being turned into a spear? (I'm told you have to see a doctor for that.)

IIRC, it does slither off after causing the single most graphic on-screen death in children’s animation.

And other times, they were plainly alive and just sticking out of Serpentors shoulders
