Hmm, is there convenient transit between there and the airports? Because I might be able to stop by on my way to Grand Central to catch a train up to work every few months... 😅
Sadly, there isn’t. Getting between Brooklyn and any airport in the New York area is a gigantic pain in the neck. You can take the 4/5/6 to the Q to get from Grand Central to Ditmas Park, but it’s about 40 minutes on the subway.

Yeah, if you're not driving, that's a really inconvenient loop to make on that trains. Hell, it's pretty inconvenient even if you are driving. Sorry!

Well, poop. WTH, NYC transit? I thought you were better than that.

I mean there’s always Lyft but I suspect that would then become like a $60 milkshake.

Transit normally is pretty good, but airports are the glaring exception. That’s one respect in which Boston and Chicago win out over NYC, although admitting that is a dead giveaway that I’m not actually a New Yorker.

I know this is a milkshake thread and not an urban planning thread, but you have to realize the subways were built before the airports. The city absolutely could've done more to make the airports more accessible, but that's another story.

Anyway, the airports are way out at the end of Queens, and this dessert shop is smack in the middle of Brooklyn. If you really want to make the trip, the best you could do is take the A from JFK to Nostrand Ave, switch to the C for one stop to Franklin Ave, take the shuttle over to Prospect Park, and get on the Q another couple of stops to Cortelyou Road (and your milkshake). From there, you can take your treat with you on the way up to Grand Central!

I mean hey, can't be any worse than Los Angeles.

Anyway, to celebrate getting stronger I got a Sonic churro shake yesterday! Got rid of the whipped cream and cherry 'cause those are gross but it had a little churro on top! It was pretty good, a not-as-sweet cinnamon shake I'd say? Something I'll try to make myself sometime, maybe with horchata as a base instead of regular milk...
