- Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection is here.
- I hate these games.
- They suck.
- I will absolutely buy this.

Does this really include all six games? If there is a way to gett all chips without a second player, I will love it forever.

It is apparently two different collections (like the X collection, if memory serves), but they include all ten games, as each "version" is included. I... have no idea how they are going to swing the various "trade" features, never mind the boktai...

This is super cool. I'm glad Clapcrom is making them available (outside the WiiU I guess) and expanding the Legacy Collection line.

This is the new worst thread title. Congratulations.

I can't wait for the endless excitement of Battle Chip Challenge, a game so cutting edge it plays itself!

EDIT: Oh, it's not there! Well, that's a relief.

I wish they had included Network Transmission so more people would get to experience how bad it is.

I've heard Chip Challenge is pretty cool if you can get into it. It would be neat if it was included but w/e.

I tried to give it a chance, one day during a summer break, and was pleasantly surprised. For that day, I was addicted, and kept on playing. But I think on the next day, I also lost interest.

I think the reason is, that there is some interesting stuff in there, but if i remember correctly, the lack of control could really hurt you, and got frustrating, as the game got harder. But until then, there is certainly fun to be had.

My headcanon is, that all Navis are controlled like this, instead of having full control of them, you just put chips into them and hope. And the only reason why Lan is able to really control Megaman is that they have their special bond. Would explain, why he is better at Netbattling than all these professional people.

wait. are you all telling me that capcom made a sport manager simulation game aimed at kids and nobody told me?

(note: I'm not actually interested in manager sims -- I'm just wondering if Battle Chip Challenge qualifies as one because it sure sounds like it does)

It's pretty crazy that Capcom put out 6 of these on the GBA over what...3 years? They really knew how to start with a good thing and drive it into the ground.

Yup.
A tradition carried on to this day, even!

It wasn't just that they stretched it out to six installments; it's that they split the later ones Pokemon style, slipping exclusive characters into each. And then they had Mega Man Star Force for the Nintendo DS, which ran concurrently with Mega Man ZX, which was a sequel to a sequel to the original Mega Man (now in eleven installments). We're talking inception in ception in ception. It's got more concentric rings than a tree trunk.

The physical edition includes all six games with both versions for 3 - 6. The digital release splits them into two collections, with 1 - 3 on one and 4 - 6 on the other. Per https://www.gematsu.com/2022/06/meg...cy-collection-announced-for-ps4-switch-and-pc

Maybe they can pack the physical edition of Battle Network with Battle Chip Challenge as a (snerk) BONUS! Oh man, I couldn't keep a straight face through that one.

I'm mostly happy about this news... except there's nothing about it coming to Xbox. D=

This makes me worried for the future.

Also, if Star Force isn't a part of this, I'm not sure how strong the likelihood is of it getting its own.

Star Force 2 is unlikely to ever be dethroned as having the most completely bugnuts storyline in the entire RPG genre.

The likelihood is a lot stronger than before they announced this collection, that’s for sure.

I would not have expected a ZX Collection, but we got one.

Changed the topic so it’s actually searchable via the game title, but left the rest of the joke.

That's one of those games I wanted to have, but not necessarily play. The first game in that collection isn't what you'd call accessible.
