So the Monterey Bay Aquarium has been releasing lofi mixes with various sea creatures and it's the best, especially since they named it Krill Waves Radio, good job.

The newest one which brought this to my attention is below as well as the schooling sardines one which is always a thing I love to watch at aquariums.

Anyway, this made me curious, what's your work/study music? When I had a Sirius subscription I'd listen to their Chillhop channel but now I don't really have a go-to, I'll often just pull up the Skyrim soundtrack or find an Animal Crossing rainy mix.

Weirdly I haven't actually listened to much of this lately, spending most of my ear-time real estate on various types of synthwave, but I'm still generally a big fan of the good old classic Lofi Girl, formerly known as...what was it, chilledcow? I don't know if they were the first, but they're the original one that blew up and inspired the various imitators, as far as I can tell. I do have the shrimp video playing and full-screened on my smaller monitor right now, though, and I think I'll probably spend some time with these.

Well over 90% of all music I listen to these days has no vocals, so it all functions pretty well as study/work music. I tend to find more energetic music actually works a little better, maybe because it gives me more energy? Tides From Nebula was a standby for a long time, with 65daysofstatic and Explosions in the Sky making consistent appearances. But these days, I have a separate browser open with a bunch of tabs to bandcamp; albums I'm checking out to put on my wishlist, listening to albums off my wishlist to see if they go in the buy pile, or queuing up albums from my collection that I haven't listened to in a while.

(Hi Guy)
Not sure if I shoulda put this here or in the vaporwave thread, since it blurs the genre lines a bit. I found out this week that there's a whole emerging subgenre of Vaporwave that's sprung up around haircuts for men (look how affordable that entire discography is) appropriately called Barber Beats and I'm here for it.

Apparently, barber beats is vaporwave for people who hate vaporwave. The vitriol in that article for vaporwave, and people who like it, was pretty thick. (I'm totally gonna listen to that youtube mix though)
