Kipo and the Age of the Wonderbeasts - Let's talk about the most fun post-apocalypse!

SpoonyBard

Threat Rhyme
(He/Him)
Season 3 is coming October 12th!

And it's going to be the last season too! That's a bummer, but hopefully the creators are ending it the way they want.

If you haven't checked this show out yet then I highly recommend it.

The final season is quite good so far, even if a few beats are predictable.

Buuuuuut then the end of Episode 4 happened and messed me up good.

YUMYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN!!!!

Aaaaaand donezo. The series very much ends just as you'd expect it might, it wears its heart on its sleeve the entire time. Maybe it was too easy an ending, but honestly, sometimes an unapologetic happy ending is a breath of fresh air. Scarlemange's arc might've felt a bit compressed, and his going out in a big damn hero redemption moment a bit predictable, but I can forgive it. Biggest misstep, I think, was Dr. Emelia's backstory, we really didn't need to know it to be honest. But I guess showing that she is totally irredeemable makes Kipo's stubborn attempt to do so at the end matter, even if she spurns Kipo's offer and winds up falling to her doom.

Crazy to think we got all three seasons in 2020, at a mere 30 episodes it crams a lot of worldbuilding and style into its total runtime. Probably the most pleasant surprise from Netflix in awhile.
