Andy Capp's BBQ Fries

This is probably the flavour I'm looking least forward to. The Andy Capp series takes place in Hartlepool, which looks pretty from it's Wikipedia page.

Starburst Drink Mix - Strawberry

Again, I love Starburst but as a drink I don't think it works.

Bigs Chile Limon

The last Bigs didn't do much for me but I have a bit of hope for this flavour, since it is more interesting than "buffalo".

Perfectly decent but nothing exctiting.

I usually get one thing of gum, one flavour even if it's easy to guess my enjoyment by extrapolating from previous experience but these were so small I decided to pick all of the flavours up.

I really like these. They seem cheapish but... the flavours are good and though it doesn't take long to lose the flavour, it doesn't become weirdly bitter, it remains a pleasant flavourless gum and has a soft, waxy feel on the tongue.

Mountain Dew Major Melon

Perfectly OK. I don't hate Mountain Dew but I also don't particularly like it. A watermelon flavour doesn't change things for me, though it is pleasant enough.

Andy Capp's BBQ Fries

This is probably the flavour I'm looking least forward to. The Andy Capp series takes place in Hartlepool, which looks pretty from it's Wikipedia page.

Easily my least favourite of the Andy Capp fries. I don't know if it's just me or this batch, but it was the oiliest tasting of all the fries.

Starburst Drink Mix - Strawberry

Again, I love Starburst but as a drink I don't think it works.

Very artificial-tasting but I don't mind it. That said, I'd definitely go with one of the other drink mixes before this.

Bigs Chile Limon

The last Bigs didn't do much for me but I have a bit of hope for this flavour, since it is more interesting than "buffalo".

The flavour is indeed better but sunflower seeds are not convenient to eat and frankly I think I'd be happiest with no flavour sunflower seeds.

This one terrified me until I saw it was a drink mix. I used to have such a hard time just eating the lemon ones.

The extra logo text just says “colorful candy popcan”. The flavors I can see on the left are Cream Soda and Milk. The ones on the right aren’t visible in the pic.

I usually get back sooner but this week was... rough. At the very end of the day, I had indigestion or something and also was overheated from playing tag with some kids and barely slept and was queasy all the next day. I know I didn't eat much more than usual, so I think it was the overheating (also based on the specific way I felt wiped out.)

I'm not sure what the difference, if any, between the two green ones (Chip n Dale and Donald and Nephews) tasted nearly the same. The cola one (Micky and Pluto) was decent. The Aristocats milk flavour is bland and Goofy and Minnie is alright.

This was fine... I still don't know if there was pulp. I felt something but maybe it was limited to very few pieces. Or it was sitting down so long, it all dissolved in the soda. Can that happen?

Andy Capp's Onion Rings

I have three Andy Capp's left to try. I suspect this will taste a little greasy.

This was easily my favourite of the Andy Capp snacks. It actually didn't feel too greasy or oily and also had a pronounced onion flavour. I've been holding off on the Hot Fries since I'm given to understand this is the most popular one but this legit good.

Color Your Mouth Gumballs

I suspect this is more about the gimmick than tasting good...

These were terrible. They go bitter quick. But more than that, it did not colour my tongue. I tried different mixes to see what I can get it but I got, at best, a barely perceptible shade of blue. These are awful and warn away any kid who thinks this'll be fun. It's a rip-off.

Plans for Tuesday

Starbust Blue Rassberry Drink Mix/Starburst Cherry Drink Mix
I forgot to get a picture. I've actually been drinking these once every day since it is low in calories and since there are 6, I have a week to get another one. I'll just tell you know, Cherry is fine but all of them taste like artificial flavoring for better and worse. Blue Raspberry is the last Starburst flavour I haven't tried.

Clorets

I haven't had Clorets in a while. In a tiny Halloween-style fun size package no less. I'm much more aware of flavour time for gum so it will be interesting to see if this works. I generally find minty gum flavours stick around longer than the real ones.

Tic Tacs

This is really boring choices week, isn't it. But they were in the discount rack so I was like "why not, I'm probably going to get a bunch of Easter candy from my folks anyway. But I didn't (but my sister made some neat sugar free Easter desserts!

Cherry Cola Taffy

Taffy (and bulk goods) were also on sale for Easter so I decided to get some. I like cola flavoured things often so I'll see if this is good.

Considering how pleasantly surprised by regular onion rings and how the hot fries are the most referenced Andy Capp product, I'm hoping this is a start of a streak to my Andy Capp journey.

The Cola taste isn't sharp of enough. I probably won't rush to try more of the taffy flavours in the immediate future. Not bad, but not as interesting as I hoped.

Best one of the week, hands down. Simple and not unique but yummy.

Andy Capp's Onion Rings Hot

Considering how pleasantly surprised by regular onion rings and how the hot fries are the most referenced Andy Capp product, I'm hoping this is a start of a streak to my Andy Capp journey.

The spiciness is interesting and it makes me realize I think I generally prefer spice in moist foods for reasons I can't articulate. It's a decent spice but it reminds me of a spice used in Chinese/Japanese noodles dishes. Probably crumble them on top and that might be nice.

Ooh, Dragon Fruit. Let me at it. Also, I think I finally hit the end of my Fantas.

Pretty decent. I like dragon fruit OK but I think it's one of those fruits that taste better in a juice than in a soda. But that might be simply a personal preference.

Caramilk Salted Caramel

If you aren't Canadian, you might not be familiar with Caramilk. Caramilk are, as you might assume, milk chocolate bars with caramel. As is, they are already great with each little segment having a dollop of soft runny caramel inside. Their big ad campaign was all about "How do they get the caramel in there. The truth will likely be very disappointing.

Caramilk... the only better flavour... is dominance!

Bubble Yum

Despite the punk duck, it's not pate flavoured. I think this one is readily available in stores but whatever, I'm just going to try everything in the candy store.

Peeps - Decorated Eggs

There were some peeps with interesting flavours... but this is the only one that was marked down (that and bunnies so it didn't matter which I picked, I think).

Reese Mallow-Top

Another Easter treat! Curious to see if they do the marshmallow flavoured chocolate well. I find I like marshmallow but marshmallow flavour doesn't do much more me.

After so many questionable cheap-o gums, Bubble Yum is very good. Right texture and classic pink bubble gum taste and the flavour sticks around for enough time and the mouthfeel lets me be happy keeping it in my mouth for longer.

I knew this is the one people liked so I saved it for last. I understand why; I don't like it as much as the onion rings but it's inoffensive and pleasant enough, not overly dusted with spice dust, mild flavoured despite the name and is just a decent enough snack food.

It's fine. The chocolate wasn't as bad as I thought as I remember American chocolate not being great. But also, maybe it's that the chocolate layer is kind of thing and the real star is caramel. And it's a decent C-list star. A nice Brian Dennehy (RIP).

I think this is easily my favourite TGIFriday's thing I've eaten. Quite yummy.
