Whoa there, Horizon Chase isn’t “what if Outrun but bad”, it’s “what if Top Gear but in 3D and actually it’s pretty decent”.

If you have Battlefield 4 on Origin, there's an expansion pack for it that's currently free.

Like John mentioned earlier, Epic Store's got Horizon Chase Turbo and Sonic Mania for free at this point too.

GOG’ll give ya both Syberia 1 & 2 through the next couple of days according to my inbox.

Obduction and Offworld Trading Company are this week's Epic Free Games. I really enjoyed Obduction, but I was predisposed to that genre, since Myst hit me hard as a 13 year old with a new Macintosh that had an ultra fast 4X CD-ROM built in. I've never tried Offworld Trading Company, but I remember Idle Thumbs talking about it, and I think they were positive on it.

I went to claim Offworld Trading Company, but then I saw that it had been published by Stardock, which is still being run by noted GooberGrumper Brad Wardell. So, no thanks.

just as a note, the offer is contingent on receiving marketing emails on whatever email is on the account. Can probably immediately unsub or so, though.

More Epic stuff, this time A Plague Tale: Innocence and Minit.

I've played Minit, and it's awesome. Black & white fetch quest style adventure game, but you only have a minute to play before the game resets. It keeps some of your progress each time though. Just get it and play it.

I don't know anything about A Plague Tale except for clicking through the promo movies on the store with the sound off. It looks sad, bloody, and there's Sean Bean. There was rats in one scene and a little kid giving you a flower in another, so they have both kinds of music. It had a bunch of accolades too, so people liked it.

Hey, I just noticed that Digipen Institute of Technology has been uploading their student projects on Steam for at least a few years now, all of which are free. I’m pretty sure they were normally available elsewhere before, but this makes finding, downloading, and setting up custom control configurations for them much easier.

Epic Store's freebie of the week is Rebel Galaxy with Void Bastards & Yooka-Laylee on deck for next week.

And an update:
GOG will be delisting a handful of older EA titles, on Monday June 28th, they are currently deeply discounted ($1.50 each) before they get removed. Syndicate Wars in particular might be worth picking up as it's not available for sale any place, while at least the other two are on EA's own Origin store front. They will remain in your library if you've purchased them:

Ultimate Underworld 1+2
Syndicate Plus
Syndicate Wars

These three are free now, 'til September 3rd. Redeem here.

Saints Row: The Third: Remastered: That One was added to Epic along with the aforementioned Void Bastards & Yooka-Laylee.

Nioh: Complete is one of the free Epic games this week.

Also, in case you haven't checked GOG's list of free games, they have some good ones, including Samorost 1, some Ultimas and the precurser Akalabeth, and if you want some 90's eXtreme racism and bad humor, Postal and Shadow Warrior.

Well, I guess if you want games from THQ Nordic but don't want to give them any of your money then you could get the following ones that are free on Steam for the next week:

The remaster of Stubbs the Zombie in Rebel Without a Pulse comes to Epic tomorrow. I enjoyed this on Xbox as one of the first games run by an ex-Bungie lead, and Free is a good price for it.

hexceed is a neat puzzle game based on Minesweeper (just not random and with a hex grid and some other tricks) that's free even on Switch. It does have paid DLC level packs, but the base game already has a ton of levels and the DLC also seems pretty reasonably priced if you end up wanting more.
