Do you have to actually own a PS4 to get this stuff? If you can just go to the store and add them to your PSN account, I might do that for the day I actually get a PS4 or 5.

You do not have to own a PS4 or PS5. I've already claimed Ratchet and Clank from my PC, and I have neither of the two consoles in question.

Pretty sure Thumper can be played in non VR mode, so don’t sleep on that if you don’t have a headset.

Cool! I don't know if I'll ever own a PlayStation VR, but Astro Bot is amazing and Rez Infinite, Thumper and Moss are all supposed to be among the best VR games out there. I'm also a huge fan of Subnautica, which can maybe also be played in VR if you're incredibly brave. ABZU is also really nice, I've played it 4 or 5 times with my son. That's a really nice list of free games!

Same here, I add free games to my account whenever I hear of them.

I could actually afford one at this point, but PS5s sell out so fast!

Passing the message on from Four-So: Sony's Play at Home 2021

The 2016 Ratchet & Clank is free right now until the end of the month, and starting in a week through April 22nd they'll be giving away:
- Abzû
- Enter the Gungeon
- Rez Infinite
- Subnautica
- The Witness

And these VR games:
- Astro Bot Rescue Mission
- Moss
- Thumper
- Paper Beast

Then Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition will be free from April 19th through May 14th.

So yeah! Be sure to hop on all of that! At the very least, make Ixo happy and play Rez Infinite.

Hi! It’s the 25th! Go claim all this stuff! (And then play Rez Infinite.)

Ratchet and Clank still is, but for the rest I'd check back this afternoon.

The latest Epic free game is Creature in the Well, which they call a hack & slash dungeon crawler mixed with pinball. Their trailer looks more like adding Breakout mechanics than pinball, since there's no gravity physics applied to your shots, just geometry. Still looks fun.

More free stuff on the Epic Store 'til 4/22:

Ken Follet's The Pillars of the Earth
The First Tree
Deponia: The Complete Journey

I dunno nothin' about the first two, but Deponia is absurd point n click goodness. Rufus is such an awful protagonist. It says it's "The Complete Journey" but I'm only seeing the first three games in the bundle. Still worth picking up anyway, since the fourth game tends to frequently go on sale for a couple of bucks.

I think I got the timezones right this time, and this should be live now.

Ratchet & Clank’s still free for a couple days too (til the 22nd) if you haven’t partaken yet.

Sweet. Also I'm so glad you can add these to your library without having the console. Someday I'll probably get a PS4 rather than borrowing a friend's!

Rusty Lake Hotel is free on Steam, and mobile. It's a point and click adventure/puzzle game, with a macabre bent. I just played through the first night/dinner on my phone, and it was fun. Kinda escape room-ish, you have to clear out the full puzzle before they move you on to the next one.

Anyone heard of a game called Pine? It’s an Epic freebie ‘til the 13th.

Free until the 20th on Epic: The Lion’s Song

(Unrelated: if any moderators are around, any chance we can get this thread pinned alongside the Deals thread?)

Epic's free game this week is NBA 2K21, so if anyone wants to shoot some hoops, you have a few days to grab it. The next one's also a Mystery Game, which tend to be bigger games than little indie ones.

The fine folks at Amanita are giving away the first Samorost game on their website. It’s a little point n click with a great unique art style. Definitely give it a shot.

A free one from the Microsoft Store, Compatible with Xbox & PC: Tell Me Why Ch. 1-3

The "latest narrative adventure game from DONTNOD Entertainment, the studio behind the beloved franchise, Life is Strange."

EDIT: Cait & SiG have brought it to my attention that this applies over on Steam as well. Thanks.

The current Epic Games Store free game is Control. (Season pass is also half off, so $7.50 for the entire game + all DLC.)

Epic's games this week are Hell is Other Demons and Overcooked 2. Hell looks a lot like Downfall if you weren't just falling down. I played a bit of the first Overcooked on PS4, it was a fun spinning plates type of game.

Next week is Sonic Mania and Horizon Chase Turbo. Horizon looks like "what if Out Run, but bad", but you still have the excellent Sonic Mania there, if you haven't picked it up already.
