it feels weird to have my avatar by itself net to the post reply box. Can we add... my username there? or something? I'm not sure why it feels so unsettling

Yep.
And you're right, Meteor would have been better...

(almost went with Stasis Sword)

When I built a Final Fanasty D20 rulsest and then added prestige classes for all the mages Layer Upon Layer and Make Your Mark Now were totally time mage perks that made haste stack and let them end it for a Quick-like effect as a reaction.

Could we have the edit post buttons (the "internal action bar set") also be on top of a post? Some posts like the list threads are annoying to edit because the list is long and I always have to scroll to the end of the post to edit it...

Alternatives: Double click a post to edit...I'll edit in more ideas when they come.

Also: The "new posts" view shows the threads on the left side and the time of the last post on the right. It may just be the new forums, but the left side also contains the start date of the thread which I always confuse with the last post time. Could we just "started" or "created" before the thread start date there? (This may involve hacking the forum code. If it does, please don't do this). (Does this forum software have themes and child themes?)

I'm reluctant to modify the templates, as modifications can have unexpected effects across various viewports and use cases. That's why I haven't added pagination to the top for mobile (although I still might; it would just require more thorough testing than usual).

The software does have themes as children of themes. Currently, the night theme is a child of the default, and the horrific theme is a child of the night theme, but only the default theme has any actual code modifications; the rest is done via theme colors.

Oh, that reminds me: that theme does have a CSS modification to add the neon halo.

Is there any benefit to this over the media tag?
The media tag is for embedding the specific player for one of a limited number of well-known services like YouTube, Twitter, etc. The video tag, as you might surmise from the context of the feature request for it, is for embedding video files that you have a direct link to.

I dunno what they’re like on desktop, but I really dislike the thumbnails on mobile. Images already get scaled down to the width of the browser and my phone has a perfectly good zoom function built in, so having the image take over my screen and restrict itself to either fully zoomed out or absurdly zoomed in with nothing in between is not helpful.

I know other people like thumbnails, but can they at least be disabled for mobile? Is there some way I can disable them for me if other people want to keep them?

I'm not sure what you mean when you ask for them to be disabled. Can't you just not tap on them?

That’s a fair point. I’d still rather they defaulted to the width of the screen on mobile though.

I’ve misunderstood. I thought we had a [thumb] tag like on the old forum, but what I’ve actually been seeing is people using the img width=whatever function. I don’t like it (on my phone at least), but I do think people should be able to post their images how they want.

Has someone already asked for a way to embed tweets? So that the text and any images/videos show up instead of just a link to the tweet?

That shows up for me.

Some browsers, by default, will have aggressive tracker blocking enabled that disables Twitter embeds. Some users have reported being affected by this. You'll need to figure out the settings yourself.

I think it's your AdBlock that's blocking embedded tweets. Try disabling AdBlock on this domain.

I love whenever I start using a new site and have to reconfigure uBlock, uMatrix, and Privacy Badger to restore basic functionality. No really it's fun

Blame capitalism, not us.

It would be nice if there was a way to see the thread title somewhere other than the top of the page or on the tab. Like a bubble on the left or something, idk.

Oh, maybe I was in the wrong thread - can we turn off "watch thread you post in by default," or get an option to turn it off?
