So I tried to Reply to part of a post. It gave me the same error 2 times in a row, then I switched to the non-BB code editor and the reply worked after that. This is on Android Chrome.

Kazin

did i do all of that?

Buddy of mine is trying to register and he says the Captcha isn't loading. Are there registration issues right now?

I had taken down registration for awhile until we had some data from the old forums. In the meantime if anyone else has issues, please pm me and I can create an account for anyone’s friends etc.

Search isn’t working for me. On iPhone safari, I tap the magnifying glass, put my term in the top dialogue, hit search, and get a white screen with this text:

keywords=Demo&c%5Busers%5D=&_xfToken=1605830556%2C9dcae76ea75fc56491293b71130665eaAn unexpected error occurred. Please try again later.

This was searching for “Demo”. Oddly, searching for “Example” got me normal search results.

Win10 Firefox: "Delete Draft" doesn't seem to be working anymore. If I type some text, then go floppy icon > Delete Draft, nothing happens to my text (didn't it blank out, previously?), and then the green circle lights up saving the draft again.

Nothing happens in the JS console when I attempt the flow, but if there's someplace else I can look for details I will!

I'm pretty sure the Delete Draft button isn't supposed to clear the text box, just delete the saved copy on the server. It's weird, I know. If you navigate away after deleting the draft without saving it again, then return to the thread, it'll be blank again.

How the hell do I make what's happening with "StarTrek:Dicovery" not happen? (I.e., not auto-convert to emoji, especially in the middle of a damn word.) I tried toggling BBCode in the editor but it didn't help. I looked in account prefs and couldn't find any relevant option.

Star Trek: Discovery

by putting a space in the words?

A classic work around for auto-emojiification is inserting an empty bold tag.

Yeah, obviously the space, though I was actually trying to type ST:Disco which looks weirder with a space. But the empty tag trick works!
Still a bit weird that there's no way to just turn it off, though.

What's Shenmue?
Has anyone else been noticing erroneous linebreaks after italics? For example, this post by me (after "X6") and this post by Kishi (after "Dark Souls"). At first I thought it was user error, but then I noticed it's only on desktop; if I look at either post on my phone, there isn't a linebreak there at all.

It's not a big deal, obviously, but it's a little irksome. It's only been doing this since yesterday, seemingly coinciding with the banner rotation, though I don't know if they're actually related.

I'm using Edge on Windows 10, for the record.

Now that you point it out, that's really weird! I can't see any good reason for it to be happening.

Might be an Edge (or Chromium) only thing - I don't see any extra line breaks in those posts using Firefox on Win 10.

Odd, but inspecting the page source shows linebreaks in the text, although no linebreak characters seem to exist if I save the file requested via curl

Now that I'm looking on my home computer (Safari running on Mac OS), I don't see them anymore. Must be an Edge thing. Weird indeed.

At first I thought this was the most understated banner yet, but it's showing up in all new page loads:

b5qdbWi.png

If I hover over it and right-click, the context menu still believes there's an image there, so I assume that's the Alt text. If I select View Image, I get a random banner from my local cache that does not match the filename:

L7ydC4Q.png

(This banner goes away too if I refresh.)

The Inspector has this to say about it:

Code:
GET https://talking-time.net/media/banner/castlewhattt.png
Status 404 Not Found

For some reason xenforo won't let me make a link to the following thread.
https://talking-time.net/index.php?threads/can’t-make-this-shit-up-snk-to-be-acquired-by-saudi-crown-prince.817/

A link to a different thread works fine.
Code:
Link is https://talking-time.net/index.php?threads/big-mouth.754/

Hmm...

Looks like the URL transmogrifier doesn't like apostrophes (and perhaps other unsavory characters). What I did was just remove them from the URL and it worked just fine, since the human-readable part of the URL is likely just fluff.

I thought it was my mouse sticking, but often when I hit the button mapped to back, it goes back two pages instead of just one. Doesn't seem to be a problem with the forward button. I checked just now though and didn't notice the behavior when pages were partially loaded, nor on other websites, so I wanted to ask if anyone else was experiencing this? If so, I will do more digging to see if there's a stray event being triggered twice.

Seeing a weird line break in the middle of some spoiler-tagged text in my most recent post in the kaizo thread, not sure if it's related to the spoiler tag or not? Worth noting that in the auto-generated preview that comes up in this post after pasting the link, the spoiled text is just not shown at all (it's in the parentheses), so you'll need to click through to see the line break in question.

This is using Chrome on a Mac.

Not sure if it’s the site or me, but I’ve had a lot of errors today; either pages loading very slowly or not loading at all with the error message “fetchevent.respondwith received an error”
