Well, it seems there are still a lot of things that are causing the problem which I thought I had resolved yesterday, and among them is trying to toggle the editor. Why this is happening now, I can't say.

Guess I'll keep poking at it....

What have you been seeing Mogri?

I have started seeing errors today whenever I try to quote or reply to a post (using either the static links or the ones that appear after selecting text).

Here's the error from my console (running Firefox on Windows):
PHP: quoteHtml=&_xfRequestUri=%2Findex.php%3Fthreads%2Fforums-bug-reports-please-please-please-include-details.16%2Fpage-4&_xfWithData=1&_xfToken=1605378781%2C4f113b8315cb8aa5a4a398ca4a768e4b&_xfResponseType=jsonAn unexpected error occurred. Please try again later. core-compiled.js:57:506

Try it now, both before and after doing a hard refresh.

It's working now. I don't know if the refresh is necessary - I had closed the tab with this thread after my post and re-opened it when I saw your new post. But using the button worked in another thread that I hadn't closed.

Quotes and square bracket toggle are working for me now in safari. Is there a way to preview, though? After years of always previewing and rereading every post I don’t feel comfortable going straight to “post reply”.

I see a "preview" button in the upper right of the post editor on desktop. On mobile, it's represented by the icon of a magnifying glass in front of a page. Do those not work?

It looks like it does but not in the way I’d expected, in that it converts the edit box to the preview instead of adding the preview above or below. There’s a slight lag, I think I thought it wasn’t doing anything because I was hitting the button again and deactivating it during the lag. I guess I’ll just have to adjust.

I'm not asking you to investigate them, though I'll take better notice in the future. In general, though, I don't think it's your responsibility to clean up XenForo's messes.

Sometimes the problem is not with XenForo, but rather with how we've deployed or configured it. The errors that people were getting in the last two days, for instance, was caused my a typo in one of our style customizations. (It's frustrating to me, as a professional developer myself, to think that a problem like that could have symptoms like those, but whatever.)

To me, it's no inconvenience to hear reports about something that's beyond our control. I'll try to report back in a timely manner about whether you can expect an improvement.

Two things I've noticed today:

1) The aforementioned +Quote and Reply issues on iPhone Safari, and

2) Sometimes (not now, strangely), it seems to hate when I double space for paragraph breaks, making me place the cursor again.

I'm getting the +Quote / Insert Quote / Post Reply error on Firefox, both on mobile and PC.

No error message, but the "mark forums read" button that used to be in the upper right is gone? It's still in the menu if you click on forums and the top bar, but I wasn't sure if it was supposed to be gone. Running Firefox on a Mac.

I am now seeing the exact same error Torzelbaum mentioned above, and on Saturday. (I would quote it, but... you know).

Code:
PHP: quoteHtml=%0ABe+a+mouse%3B+enjoy+mouse+activities+like+smiting+orcs+and+learning+to+do+a+double-jump.&_xfRequestUri=%2Findex.php%3Fthreads%2Fdigital-down-low-for-11-20-2020-the-five-hundred-thousand-folks-of-monster-alley.769%2F&_xfWithData=1&_xfToken=1605634400%2C5ed7e841f8f1f163600467f50d2fcbb8&_xfResponseType=jsonAn unexpected error occurred. Please try again later.

However, it's quite sporadic. All things being equal, it happens about two thirds of the time when I try to Reply or select-Reply, but the chance of it happening seems to go down if there's a link in the quoted text, and it goes up the more text I try to quote.

Multiquote fails 100% of the time. The error message is identical to the above (aside from the text and URL params, natch) and I get the error when I first click on the "Insert quotes..." button; if I somehow get past that, I get it when I confirm the quotes in the dialog.

I'm on Firefox 82 64-bit. I tried logging into Chrome to verify the issue there, and instead I got this:

Code:
https://talking-time.net/index.php?login/login
login=Zef&password=[redacted]&remember=1&_xfRedirect=https%3A%2F%2Ftalking-time.net%2Findex.php&_xfToken=1605635049%2Cc56cb30f3092d36512f1efb3422cce6eAn unexpected error occurred. Please try again later.

Edit: After several tries, I got through the Chrome login and got 2FA'd, and yup, same error on Chrome too. Reply and Multiquote.

Sorry, I wasn't very clear with that.

The browser URL only had the "https://talking-time.net/index.php?login/login" path. The resulting page was just plaintext content, no HTML or encoding, printing the query with the above parameters starting at "login=Zef", and including the error message (and without any space between the token parameter and said message.) But it DID print my password in plaintext, escaping special characters as HTML encoding.

I have started seeing errors today whenever I try to quote or reply to a post (using either the static links or the ones that appear after selecting text).
I started to do some research on this, and then I stopped seeing the errors. There's a slim chance that I fixed this on accident while attempting to look at it; please let me know if you continue to see errors of this sort.

I don't think you want to rely on a browser-side hashing. If you've got an https connection, you're already encrypted, assuming no MITM. You'd want to pull out wireshark to verify that, I guess.

I just got what looks like the same error as above, when trying to reply to a post so it's not fixed yet:

PHP:
core-compiled.js?_v=acf42a0e:57 PHP: quoteHtml=&_xfRequestUri=%2Findex.php%3Fthreads%2Fit-feels-different-this-time-the-new-doctor-who-thread.51%2Fpage-14&_xfWithData=1&_xfToken=1605645341%2C860496ca4e7a8f19412b7bc8b6f30981&_xfResponseType=jsonAn unexpected error occurred. Please try again later.

And then I actually got it again when I popped up the "Code" dialog. "Inline Code", which just inserts the tags, didn't cause it.

This is on Chrome (recent but not quite 100% up to date) on Windows 7.

(Also I feel the pain of the reported error just being "An unexpected error occurred". Thanks PHP. Much helpful.)

Trying to click reply on a post made this error pop up:

Oops! We ran into some problems. Please try again later. More error details may be in the browser console.

When I check the browser console this is the most recent error

AbortError: Actor 'Conduits' destroyed before query 'RuntimeMessage' was resolved ConduitsParent.jsm:297
_raceResponses resource://gre/modules/ConduitsParent.jsm:297
OpenGL compositor Initialized Succesfully. Version: 2.1 INTEL-14.6.18 Vendor: Intel Inc. Renderer: Intel(R) HD Graphics 6000 FBO Texture Target: TEXTURE_2D 2
debuggee 'resource://devtools/shared/base-loader.js:289' would run builtin-modules.js:196:11

This is the first time I've ever used the browser console so sorry if I missed additional info somewhere. The other things in the console don't seem to be related and are there whether I'm on TT or not but I can post other things too if that would help.

I get an error when I try to quote too.

PHP: quoteHtml=&_xfRequestUri=%2Findex.php%3Fthreads%2Fforums-bug-reports-please-please-please-include-details.16%2Fpage-5&_xfWithData=1&_xfToken=1605711064%2Cb3e37012d7add52b49e16824794093fc&_xfResponseType=jsonAn unexpected error occurred. Please try again later

This happens when I try to insert a quote or hit the reply button (the "+ Quote" button works, is the "Insert Quote" button what causes the crash)

A lot of these reports seem to relate to the same, incredibly cursed, underlying issue that we've already failed several times to identify the cause of. Your feedback remains useful.
