Final Fantasy VII Rebirth

I'm sure this is a fight you didn't want to pick with an underpaid Gamestop worker, but legally they have to let you have it for the advertised price. That someone forgot to change the tag is their problem.
I think this depends on where you are.

Not sure how much stock to put in it, given it's status as a kinda weird and goofy (but game-spanning) side quest that wasn't in the original, but noted multiverse traveller Gilgamesh
makes a rainbow portal when he leaves to find his way back home to the FF5 world
.

Apparently the 3rd Chapter Title has been decided, but at this point Square is keeping it under wraps.

I don't definitively know what the title is, but I have a good guess:

Final Fantasy VII: 1080º Snowboarding

This title is too important to mess up. Square needs to bring the S-rank Title team. Let the Kingdom Hearts team handle this one!

Also has there ever been a news story to declare that a subtitle has been selected but not revealed? Love Square Enix.

Could be!

The obvious choice is "Reunion", and I've never been convinced by any argument that S-E wouldn't use it just because they used it before.

My guess is that it's not actually a word that starts with 'R', although a part of me really wants it to be 'Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3', just for the glory of messing with people.

(It'll be Revival, or Reckoning, or some shit like that.)

Remake Part 3: Rebirth II

jeb has some really good ones. Here are my thoughts:

If they hadn't used Reunion for Crisis Core I would 300% say it was Reunion. It's so obvious you'd be stupid not to do it. But... they already used it.

Revive - this would make sense as a tease about Aerith (not saying they would revive her, it's just a compelling tease)

Restore - this is now my frontrunner (jeb liked it so much they listed it twice). It plays with the idea of restoration (ie. HD remake) but also restoring the planet, but also restoring the timeline or whatever the meta of this trilogy is suggesting.

Restitution /rĕs″tĭ-too͞′shən, -tyoo͞′-/

noun

  1. The act of restoring to the rightful owner something that has been taken away, lost, or surrendered.
  2. The act of making good or compensating for loss, damage, or injury; indemnification.

Restore hits that sweet spot of sort of having an extra meaning and sort of not really working in English, so the only thing I think I'd bet on over it is some "transfarring" sort of deal where they stick re- in front of something that doesn't normally take it as a prefix.

It would be very funny if they just called the third game "Final Fantasy VII" with no subtitle

Revengeance still high on the list, then!
