Final Fantasy enemies - can't have a fighing fantasy without some foes

So from the first Final Fantasy your forces have faced frequent fights with fearsome foes. So what are some of you favorite enemies/monsters from the Final Fantasy series?

Hell House.

I always like Cactuars and Tonberries, and the latter always creep me out a little bit, with the lore behind them. And Odin is just cool.

Then there are these weird things on the island you start, when Celeste wakes up in the WoR. They don't attack, and just die on their own. Really nice touch of storytelling through gameplay.

I need to look up the weirdos from FF VII, but there is some boat that is moved by a skeleton that it attached to said boat, or something?

Summon for hire

Malboros can be a pain but I love that they exist. Just one of the coolest D&D monsters, renamed after a cigarette, that fucks you up with its halitosis. And occasionally some crazy weirdo tries to keep one as a pet.

Another D&D-lifted monster I'm a fan of is the Coeurl, especially since it, unlike the D&D counterpart, retains the name of the original inspiration, the creature in the bizarre 30s pulp scifi story "Black Destroyer".

What a fascinating story, thanks for sharing it! That's some really wild spec fic for 1939; there were a few details I rolled my eyes a bit at before I realized how long ago it was written. Found it a bit hard not to root for the Coeurl though, even if it is a genocidal murderer ready to subjugate the galaxy.

I especially like the illustration of the evil space-cat in his goofy little 30s spaceship:

Oh, and there was a comic adaptation of the story done by Marvel in the 70s.
