Elemental Who Would Win!

Ok so I’m realizing Johnny was correct above and Aang wouldn’t pull out his Avatar state against mostly-human opponents in a tournament setting. But facing a literal demi-god who sometimes flirts with its more demonic side? If it looked like Pazuzu was a threat that could a hurt people if left unchecked, like if it starts to get a little too into all this fighting which seems plausible, then it could absolutely turn into an all-stops out Avatar state worthy showdown. And if that happens, well, a demigod would still be a tough fight, but Avatar state is pretty close to demigod-hood itself, so I think Aang’s mastery of all elements could top Pazuzu’s mastery of one.

On the other match, I dunno, it seems likely that the F4 together have taken on kaiju-scale threats, but it’s a tall order for one of them alone even if she may be the most powerful and versatile when relying on only her own powers.

Mothra beats Sue, and it's not close.

The other pairing is trickier, but I think the Avatar state is enough to give Aang the win.

Sue is definitely a powerhouse, but she can't - and won't - fight a psychic kaiju. Mothra

Aang is a clever young man, and he has power, but he lacks the experience of Pazuzu.

I love Sue and glad she's really killin' it but finally she hits a way. Mothra is just too big and forceful for her forcefields to stand, even when applied strategically. Mothra has this completely sewn up.

Pazuzu vs. Aang is a much trickier. To my memory, Aang doesn't do a lot of fighting spirit entities so much as having to navigate them (or in some cases helping or being helped by them). Still when worse comes to worse, Aang would stand and fight. And yeah, I'm gonna stop nerfing him with the context of the fight; going up against a spiritual antihero, he will definitely go into his Avatar state. I think he would rather talk him down but what little I see of Pazuzu, he's smart and even humane but I get some "Son Wukong" vibes, which is to say more action than talk. So this is going to be for-real fight. I think in the Avatar state, Aang will just get on his tippy-toes to equal a god and from there, the fight will determine if Aang's cleverness can overcome Pazuzu's power. Now this is when it gets tricky; looking on Wikipedia, I genuinely don't know how many of Pazuzu's problems are solved with brute force and how many are solved with cleverness. He's described as utilizing destructive winds so I'm going to say brute force.

That sounds like it should play into Aang's favour and I won't dispute that take but there are definitely entities where they simply don't fall into traps so easily because they don't mess around and charge in full force ("Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the mouth".). If Aang can take it he can put a plan into effect. My guess is it involves him having to find a way to ride the wind to get to Pazuzu in the first place. My assumption is Pazuzu will keep pushing him back with destructive winds and Aang is too smart to go "force v. force". But can he land a punch when he gets there, let alone a decisive one. The best chance is to focus on air bending until he gets close and then unload in the hopes he won't see the other elements coming. This is where I lose track, again, in large part to my lack of knowledge of Pazuzu except for "vibes". I have no doubt Aang will deliver a powerful attack, are the elements still powerful enough to reach the gods. After all this, I'm going to say Pazuzu comes out scarred but winds. That said, if anyone has info about Pazuzu or Aang that is relevant that I've missed, I'm definitely interested in listening and adjusting my guesstimation accordingly.

Aang and the Invisible Woman both get their first losses! Pazuzu and Mothra win!

It’s a return to the Earth Arena!

The Thing can smash one magical skeleton dude. Yeah, the Lich has spells, but Ben Grimm is a hard enough of a cookie to deal with them simply with sheer willpower and toughness.

And Eartha wins by charm and guile. Toph doesn't know what to do with a legend like that.

The Thing is likely to beat Lich, unless he's weak to fire.

Toph won't give Kitt the chance to do any nonsense.

The thing with the Thing is, he’s kind of *made* of earth, and Lich canonically *rots* the earth, and if that defining attribute actually works on his body, ol’ Ben is gonna be in big trouble. It seems like the kind of storyline where he charged in but ended up in mortal peril, and the rest of the team would rally to his aid, but he doesn’t have that luxury here, so the better part of valor is tapping out and Lich takes this one.

As for the other match… I dunno, but one way or another they’re *definitely* going to just end up palling around and swapping stories of dudes who underestimated them. I think I’m gonna go with Eartha seeing that Toph is more into the tournament lifestyle and will have more fun with it, so she lets her take the match.

I thought Lich's decay only affected soil?
Oh wait, didn't he also cause earthquakes? I'm not sure if that aspect of Lich will affect Ben or not.

If I'm remembering correctly, I think Ben has been mind-controlled before so Lich's status effect spells might be able shut The Thing down. If those don't land or if it's just a battle of raw damage then I think a Ben clobberin' can get the job done first.

I can easily imagine Eartha and Toph hitting it off, choosing to leave the tournament and causing a ruckus together.

Well, he's not made of earth. Descriptions of his hide are "rock-like" rather than "rock". So it's probably an ultra hard chiton or something.

I think the Lich represents the kind of cosmic supervillain the Thing faces on the regular. He's known for his ridiculously hard hide and his will power so I trust the Thing to crumple under the fists of one of the strongest superheroes.

Toph will take out Kitt before she can do anything. No chill.

I'm of the opinion that the Lich is capable of making the Thing rot, but not on a quick enough timescale for him to keep his skull intact. This match goes to The Thing, though he may need to recuperate afterwards.

As for the other match, Eartha Kitt will find herself literally stonewalled by Toph if she tries to go on the offensive (but she won't because they'd be pals).

Ifrit Leviathan
Inclined to agree. All four are capable in battle, so sheer power/scale takes it. In a battle of monsters, Draygon is big but Leviathan is bigger. And while Koromaru could face Ifrit as part of a team, I don’t know that he could take that much damage output one-on-one.

I love ya Draygon, but Ghost Leviathan is just too big for you.

I'll have to give the other match some more thought.

Same same.

I'm going against the grain mostly because people decided Koromaru could beat friggin' Mothra and while I'm not sure, I think a properly prepared player can beat a summon.

But I definitely I agree with everyone Draygon does not spew enough white go to take out a goliath like Ghost Leviathan.

Koromaru has other damage types besides fire and also has non-guaranteed instakill spells so I think he could beat Ifrit but I don't think the odds are in Koro's favor.

It's hard to imagine how Hawkgirl wins. Angry Sun has this one on lock.

The Angry "Sun" can be knocked out with just a koopa shell or a hammer from the hammer suit (or even Mario's Butt, if a slope is available).

Hawkgirl's mace thing is at least on the same tier as a hammer suit hammer, so I'm giving the win to her.
