Duelling Lingos: The Non English Music Thunderdome

Inner Universe and Song for Women move on (Lucas cast the deciding vote for The Hu elsewhere)

@Olli's first pick is in his native language, a cool little Finnish soft rock piece called Lähtisitkö from Pave Maijanen. It's all Greek to @Kirin , though, as he goes with Greek #3 by They Might Be Giants. It's TMBG you know what to expect.

@Violentvixen is gracing us with the wonderful Bhangra/Metal fusion band Bloodywood and their song NU DELHI, and I choose pop rock from Armenian superduo Garik & Sona with their song Shirkhani Par.

Are The Hu the best throat singing Mongolian rock band? Hard to say, but by god they're up there

We're taking Lähtisitkö to Nu Delhi.

Exposition Owl takes us to Senegal, where Wolof is the most commonly spoken language. Pape & Cheikh are a Senegalese duo with global appeal and they are joined by Mamy for Mariama. Kirin brings us the German language Ein Lama in Yokohama by Schnappi the Krokidil.

Lakupo draws from the subcontinent for the Tamil language track Chellakutty by Alpha Something feat. Deva, from the game Venba. Another choice from our Owl friend is Toto La Momposina's El Pescador.

My track is very silly and I do like the other one, but I gotta rep it, so
Ein Lama in Chellakutty

sMy vote is also for Mariama and...

I have made a mistake. I'm not sure how I fucked this up but the second matchup features songs that were matched up against different opponents, though those two matches were next to each other in the bracket. So I guess we'll do those two matchups that were supposed to be plus a third just to keep the count even.

First Match: El Pescador (Toto La Momposina/Spanish/@Exposition Owl versus Tanzschein (COSMO/German/@Johnny Unusual)

German

Second Match: Chellakutty from Venba (Alpha Something feat. Deva/Tamil/@Lakupo) versus Last Dinosaur (the pillows/Japanese/@WildcatJF)

Tamil

Japanese

And the third match today is Konya Wa Hurricane (Bubblegum Crisis/?/Daikaju) versus Despacito (Luis Fonsi feat. Daddy Yankee/Spanish/Issun) which was the song of the summer in 2017 which was *checks notes*

No, that can't be right. Math says 9 years ago but...
