Besides the Tale Spin episode, I also assume we’re getting a final stand-off between Lena and Magica, because they’ve spent the entire show building to that and it would be a weird thing to leave hanging.

It wasn’t canceled unceremoniously. There are probably 5-6 episodes left. The Tale Spin characters are still coming.

Maybe, but with DWD they had the new origin ep, then a significant reminder during Moonvasion!, then finally the incorporated two-parter pilot episode last month. If I'm hoping against hope for a TaleSpin spinoff, they'd need at least 2 of those 5-6 eps to set it up, and I don't think that's happening.

I know most people prefer DWD, but TaleSpin was my favorite of all the Disney Afternoon shows, so it was the revival I was looking forward to the most when I first heard the Cape Suzette namedrop aaaaaall the way back in episode 1.

Not to derail the depresssing turn this thread had become ... Actually i want to because it is too depressing but I love how much lore they crammed into the last two episodes; a lot more when you consider The First Adventure as well.

Wasnt too big on Fight for Castle McDuck at first but it grew on me. Webby reacts to Castle and history McDuck and thwur squabbles, the boys with more mysteries and squabbles, clan family squabbles, a nice follow-up (and conclusion) to the last one.

How Santa stole Christmas quickly rose up to be one of my favorite episodes of the season esp with all the (one last) call outs to smorgasbord of characters of the show; also
Webby trying not to react to her gift
is priceless. I also like the Christmas puns, reminds me of this tfs dbza episode.

And now I'm sad again theres only 4-ish episodes left...

Beaks in the Shell!

Is Gizmoduck going to fight a tank and wax philosophic on the nature of consciousness

Also boooooo on just one TaleSpin episode that won't lead into a spinoff series 😭

If you stretch the key words in this sentence indefinitely... yes(?).

Otherwise I enjoyed it. Also I cannot stop myself from seeing Gyro as "Mad Dean Pelton", obviously due to same actor but also both have high degrees of eccentricity.

Edit: Also be wary of any Ducktales related wikis or the like due to spoilers (ugh).

I do hate it when wikis show no regard for spoilers for new or even unreleased content. Just because I'm looking for info on something new doesn't mean I want stuff I haven't even had a chance to see for myself laid out for me.

Worst is when you look up a specific character and realize that all the "is"es are now "was"es.

I like when Wikis treat everything as historical data, like Wookiepedia, because then everything is "was" and you don't run into that kind of spoilers anymore.

I really appreciate that Gyro has saved the world with these kids and still doesn't know any of their names.
Haven't watched previous episodes to confirm this but I don't think Gyro knows Fenton's name either and they work alongside each other. Called him "Doctor Intern".

Edit: okay, he mentioned Crackshell-Cabrera once at the end of the Japan episode. Guess Gyro isn't completely hopeless with names.

Huey’s obsession with having long legs may be my favorite running gag on this show.

Yeah, I’ve been regaining a lot of respect for TaleSpin lately. It holds up far better than it should.

Though I wouldn’t want a spin-off from this show, because I don’t think TaleSpin would work as well set in the present day.

Honestly, all I ever really wanted was for Shere Khan and Scrooge to cross paths, but I don't see that happening anymore.

Not sure how I feel about "Lost Cargo" and Def not feeling the episode
especially what it could be implying knowing certain spoilers
.

Altho "what could have been" would be a good thing to describe what's going on in and also surrounding the episode in general.

Yeah, me neither :/ I'm self-aware enough not to try to judge it based on the extremely lofty expectations I built in my head from the moment I saw the poster, but even on its own, it was... weird. Perfunctory? It feels like grown-up Kit's new characterization may work on the script *, but the voice acting made him unrelentingly grating and they went back to the "Crow B." gag far too many times after it stopped being funny. I'm not even sure what kind of "lesson" it was supposed to teach Dewey, either? This Kit got into piloting because he says it was "expected" of him even though his passion lay elsewhere, but in this ep Della encourages Dewey to be a pilot and expects him to follow in her footsteps that way, then he decides to stick with it when his insta-passion of sky-surfing fails. So.... huh?

I also felt bad for all the Air Pirates that got turned into horrifying abominations? I thought the ep would at least change them back but nope, we have some record-scratch misogyny and a pretty nasty fate for the offended character and nothing really came out of it. And that scene with Peg Leg Meg was written as though there would be some followup later?

At least I chuckled at the "The Woods" background gag when we got a clear look at it in the middle of the climax :p

But yeah, "What could have been" describes the ep pretty accurately. As a pilot for a potential spinoff... pass.

* I have my own ideas about who Kit could grow up to be, in context of the original cast and his relationships, but I'm not shackling the new show to my ideas or expectations. I'm just disappointed the writers took every one of Baloo's negative traits and applied them to Kit. And then gave him a really irritating vocal performance.
