Does Control get better?

I honestly had more trouble with the Mushroom Dragon than the Fridge Monster, but yeah, some of the bosses aren't great.

Man, the difficulty spiked big time after meeting Dylan. Seems like everywhere I go now I get overwhelmed by what feels like hundreds of really powerful enemies. I tried to do a Jukebox mission and got trounced multiple times and failed with only a quarter of the mission complete. And running around trying to do side-missions for resources has proven surprisingly perilous of late.

The Jukebox missions are tough. No shame at all in failing any of those.

For me the worst boss fight by far was Hartman from the AWE DLC. Took me forever to get the timing down for dodging its dumb projectiles, as well as figuring out how to cancel its turn-out-the-lights attack.

I beat the main story the other day. It was cool, though tbh I didn't really care for the music during the ashtray maze sequence visually entertaining though it was. Felt like it didn't fit whatever mood they were going for there. The ending was kind of abrupt but thinking back all the plot points are fairly abrupt. It's a game more about the atmosphere and details being what pull you in rather than the main story.

For example I cared rather little about the actual main conflict of Jesse trying to rescue/defeat Dylan, but really enjoyed the cryptic little stories he would tell you if you visit him periodically and how they potentially color the way you interpret the plot. My favorite interpretation is that all of it, the Hiss, Dr. Darling's experiments, the passing of the Service Weapon to Jesse were all along just a means for the Foundation to contain her/Polaris. Like, sure, she runs the Foundation now, but that also means she's going to spend all her time there, being functionally contained and "controlled".

Also by the end my interpretation is that Polaris is just literally the player. The cosmic guiding force that makes Jesse special and able to wield all these powers is just the fact that she's a video game protagonist controlled by a player. That seems like the kind of meta they're going for.

Anyhoo I do intend to play through the DLCs and see how those go. And I feel obligated to beat that flying piece of shit eventually, preferably after I've leveled up as much as possible and can hopefully steamroll him for satisfaction.
