Comics Are Awesome! Great Moments in Sequential Storytelling (2020 - )

Power is fleeting, love is eternal

So that's where the Phantoms get their sense for the dramatic and their love for garish costumes from.
I do think some of the later comics suggest that the third Phantom was especially fond of dramatic entrances, and provided the later generations with ideas on how to appear especially intimidating. Which is another reason for why I think the third is my favorite.
On the one hand, good for them.

On the other hand… Skull Throne
It is a pretty cool throne. Though I've always thought it looks uncomfortable.

The Phantom has always had a weird, somewhat unclear relationship with the whole "secret identity" thing. Sometimes he wears a trenchcoat and sunglasses (or something similar, depending on the century) and switches to the tights when it's time for action, other times (especially in the historical stories) he just walks around in the tights in broad daylight like it's no big deal, and most people around him just say "huh, that's some unusual clothes".

That's a quick transition from "whimpering" to "sassy"

"Well... I guess we're wrapping this up early today, then. Alright, everyone, take five, then meet back at the Blackbird! We're going to Denny's!"

So, like, does each eyeball shoot a beam after being fired? Or do you just hit the enemy with a bunch of gross eyeballs?

Johnny Unusual

The best part... you know the eye isn't going to remain iris forward. It's a gun that shoots eyeballs that shoots concussive blasts... EVERYWHERE.

That's supposed to be Mr. Sinister, right?

Because it sort of looks like John Travolta (especially in Pulp Fiction) to me.

Well, if there's rifling in the barrel then that should cause the eyeballs to spin and remain pointed forward. But that relies on the eyeballs being in the right position when they're loaded into the chamber. I wonder if the optic blast nerve could help with that...
