I made the thread last time, and I'm making it again now. At least this time the first post will involve real nature instead of turning out to be a really realistic looking model that someone was selling on etsy.

According to the neighbor I don't like, this little girl (?) has been living in our backyard for at least the last three weeks or so, and he's been feeding her corn and other veggies from his garden. We first learned about her because she decided to start exploring the rest of the street and was marching up the sidewalk leading a parade of roughly 50,000 neighborhood children.

So far her hobbies seem to include eating, and chasing full-speed after cyclists.

Dang, I guess I need to document our yard-browsers more often. There were 4 that came by to munch on the Rose of Sharon, which sounds rather dirty now that I type it out.

That deer is very pretty, but something seems wrong with her tail, like there's something in or on it :(

One: I had NEVER heard "shit" being described as "ass ham" before and I can't even see how one gets there.

Two: "Ungodly amount of ass ham" is a good name for a rock band.

Three: Poonado v Sharknado: Dawn of Fartstice.

I've grown that! It's really easy but you do have to pollinate the plants yourself which is fun. I didn't get as many of the pink/red kernels. I buy mine from Native Seeds if anyone wants to try growing some.

I’m told that ice caves are super dangerous, but every time I see a picture like that I really want to go find one. To quote Zaphod Beeblebrox, I could really *be* in that cave.

Chrysina limbata is a species of scarab beetle found in the tropical rainforests of Central America, including Costa Rica, and Mexico. (But I don't know if it's forbidden or not.)

Research has shown that the elytra of Chrysina are composed of about 70 chitinous layers of exoskeleton. The different reflective indices and spacing of the layers cause light of different wavelengths to be selectively refracted through them and by them in different phases, leading to a metallic appearance, and also leads to different specimens having different colors.

Our new bird-feeder networked camera has been catching a possum friend. These were from a rainy night, hence the random blotches in the frame.

Also, this adorable mouse has visited several times, though often it streaks by so fast you can't get a clear frame of it.
