Awesome commissioned art

Since some of it might not technically count as "fan art", I thought it would be fun to have a thread for sharing things we have commissioned other people to make. I feel like it's especially important to promote and celebrate commissions in these days of "AI art".

I have commissioned two pieces of art in my life so far. The first was a picture by faeymouse depicting two characters from a piece of TRON faniction I had written:

And most recently, I commissioned ground-zer0s to draw a picture of my superhero character in City of Heroes, "Princess Pop":

I guess this technically isn't a commission, since I didn't pay for it, but the artist Kamaete, AKA thegoldenavenger, had an "OC weekend" where they offered to draw any Original Character that was submitted, so I took the chance to ask for Princess Pop. And oh boy, did I love the result!

A few years ago I commissioned monarobot to do their own rendition of Gunnerkrigg Court's Coyote.

It's been my desktop background since. I have considered getting it tattooed, but am still not sure if I want a tattoo.

Someday I might commission a Great Ultros off Kanagawa. Their rates have gone up a lot in the last few years though (deservedly so!).

An acquaintance in a local Telegram server drew this for me as a surprise gift! They don't have any social media for me to link to, but I'm very grateful for it.

I commissioned this from SleepingWoolf! I love how stylish it looks.

I got this from hoodiedogs a few days ago at FWA! They had prints at their merch stand as examples for commission types, but I thought those were just examples - I didn't think I was getting a whole-ass print that I can hang on my wall!

I've commissioned a couple pixel art avatars from my wonderful buddy bachelorsoft.

Most recently was a portrait of the protagonist of my first ZZT game, which I am using as my avatar on Cohost:

Before that, I had him make one of my not!Samus OC, which acts as my current avatar here and on most other places I hang out at. I provided him with a vague sketch and some references, and imho he knocked it out of the park:

I commissioned Emily E to draw the two main characters from Beneath A Steel Sky in the "Barbie mugshot" format, because I felt that the world needed more Beneath A Steel Sky fanart:

Basically, the joke is that towards the end of the game, Robert uploads the mind of his robot companion Joey into an android body, and decides to change his name to "Ken".

I've been thinking for a while about getting a fursona, and I've finally decided to go ahead with it. I had an idea in my mind of what kind of character I wanted, and a vague idea about her overall look, so I commissioned JuneauPaws to create her.
