There are shop-exclusive ingredients!?
Not to my knowledge, but there are quest-exclusive ingredients (e.g. dragonfruit, which can be used to create a level-up smoothie, and peach/watermelon, which can be used to create a prevent-death smoothie).

In that case, I shall continue to support only the fashion side of the economy of Ring Fit's world.

I buy a lot of white sesame seeds and bananas at the smoothie shop, so I can keep making the double-ingredient-drop smoothie. Also, now that I'm starting the last chapter, the game has stopped giving me ingredients from the early worlds and I find I often don't have what I need to make smoothies that boost the attack powers of the various colors. So before a big fight I might buy some of the basic strawberries or green tea so I can put together some damage boost smoothies.

I find it mildly disturbing that the treasure chests scream when you open them.

So apparently with all the "easy rest spot moves" that I hate doing in the campaign, when I put them all in a custom list, they actually turn out to be pretty decent. Except for the wrist twist, eff dat one. Would be better if there was "shuffle play list" option for it tho.

well, I finally started playing this after getting it for... christmas. it's very cute, and I like the bite-sized nature of the working out

Played a level on Sunday that was nothing but squats. I literally did 77 squats in row. My legs have been on fire nonstop for two days. Whose brilliant idea was that???

There are a lot of squats in the stages. Unfortunately, for a good stretch of the game (around level 95-110), Squats 2 is probably going to be your strongest single-target attack as well at 360 attack.

I'm not sure you understand. This level was nothing but squats, the whole thing takes place on one of those stupid train cars that you have to squat to make advance. I mean there was a fight at the end, but that was pretty inconsequential compared to the getting there. There were even plenty of slopes where you would start to slide backwards if you didn't squat fast enough. So now it hurts me to walk on flat ground.

I've done a couple like that. World 13 has one, but there was a longer one earlier.

Game likes its squats. What can I say?

I've dealt with those little train things before, but I swear none of them was half as long as this one. I've certainly never been this sore before from playing Ring Fit. Anyway, looking forward to destroying some other part of my body once I feel good enough to tackle the next part of Chapter 13.

If it makes you feel any better, you're ahead of me!

Did my first set of mountain climbers the other day. Turns out mountain climbers aren't great for the whatever-pull in my groin/left front leg. Neither are squats, so maybe it was just timing, but that was Very Unhappy when I was doing the climbers. :|

I quickly found out doing leg stretches go a long way to make squats and mountain climbing not completely murderize you but you may still end up feeling like yamcha after two or more sets.

I used this as a starting point but changed it up over the days.

Only three sessions in but I'm having fun. After a year and a half of losing fat, I feel like now is the time to build some muscle and this is a fun way to do it. Will definitely be essential this winter.

I just wanted to say that I adore how well put together the game is. And the artstyle is fantastic! Sadly, I cannot actually play the game (for a variety of reasons), but I've enjoyed watching my Other Half play.

Also the ring genie person looks like Robin Williams and I cannot unsee that.

So I have made a custom list that is specifically for "watching someone else play vidja gamz or a movie while on the couch" which is pretty much overhead press, back press, front press, thigh press, bow pull until the list fills. It fulfills its function and is even a decent time killer during d&d when other players take too long to decide on their turn.

Oh and mountain climber is now my go-to "this enemy would be dead in two presses if the "finish rep" toggle wasn't on" move. Seems so long ago mountain climber was something I dreaded doing. Now normal squats on the other hand...

Something else I find mildly disturbing: the fact that all the "smoothies" you make have the same thick consistency as you're squeezing the ingredients.

I've had a bit of a break between sessions, but I got back on it today. My moveset has way too much arm stuff on it at the moment, I need to mix it up a little. I finished world 4 this afternoon. It's been a while, but I'm pretty sure the thing stopping my character's progress was not being able to walk on water, so it's kind of strange that after getting the upgrade that I thought would let me do that I'm now using a stand-up paddleboard. Maybe I'm worrying about the plot too much.

Sooooooo tired. I've been in Chapter 13, dealing with the endless fake Dragaux stadiums, each with a statue boss. I did one level today and it was a decent workout, but I decided I could handle a second...at which point I stumbled on to the actual Dragaux fight. I basically exercised every single part of my body as far as it could go, rotating through skills when it felt like I couldn't do any more for a given muscle group. I don't think I overdid it today, but I am beat. Also...there's a Chapter 14???

Oof. Unlocked the planks on Thursday, then the next day my back was a mess. Coincidence? Anyway, not ideal when you have to look after kids, which involves a lot of bending over to pick them up. Feeling better today but not quite ready to try the game again until it's 100% (although I might just try some light exercises in multitask mode, which I haven't tried yet. If its what I think it is, it would be good to do when I'm watching something that doesn't need the closest attention paid.)

As much as I hate grinding for exp in literally every other rpg, this one I don't mind doing do. I wonder why 🤔

Either way, level 105, got Overhead press 2 but yet it hasn't replaced the lv1 version despite being 11 times stronger. Also I noticed I've been stocking up on 2x exp smoothies to use on every boss fight or battle circuit fight which adds to paragraph above.

Y'know, after spending 15 minutes trying to do the Dreadmill request in World 11, I'm starting to think y'all might be onto something with Dreadmill being super bad. 🤔

I mean, I got it eventually after discovering floating is a much more precise way of controlling where on the belt I am, but come on.

Since I surprised my husband by doing this last night, a PSA: when chasing the treasure chests you can use the vacuum power to slow them down and catch them. Hitting them with an air blast doesn't seem to do much.
