Now that you mention it, isn't it weird that some 250-pound slab of beef with a whip gets thrown in the opposite direction when a 3-pound bat flies into him mid-jump? That's like if you got hit by a car and it bounced off you.

I didn't see this thread until now, and I felt I should share that a bat flew right into my chest once. It felt like someone threw a pair of folded socks at me. Certainly not enough to knock me back into one of the many bottomless pits I used to traverse around before the pandemic.

Dear vidya games:

STOP MAKING BATS EVIL AND/OR ANNOYING!

This stereotyping bull$#!% started way back in Adventure (Atari tape, not my island) with the bat what stole my keys and bridges.

And things have been downhill for bats ever since.
(Somebody put a lot of work into painstakingly recreating these classic sprites that were gonna be interpreted like crap through ACNH filters, just sayin'.)

Please be nicer to bats, I'm begging ya! I want 'em to be my neighbors and not just part of a spooky Halloween decoration!

Bats are among the first enemies you meet in The Dark Spire, in the Giant and Killer varieties. They're very charming. Sometimes they bite a party member and make them sick.
