Any interest in playing through all the Final Fantasy games together?

Yesterday, I thought about Final Fantasy, a series that I love. I have played all the mainline games up to XIII, except for XI. I recently played X-2, so I still count this as having played the first 13 main FFs.

Anyway, despite liking or loving all of these games, I haven't played them in years (except for X-2, which was this Spring). I haven't seen the ending of FF VI, a game that was once my favourite JRPG, in more than ten years. Not really a problem, there are just way too many new games to play, but I'd really like to put some time aside to replay this series.

My plan would be to just go through the main FF games, starting with I and ending with XIII. Partly, I'd like to really get a sense of how the series developed in terms of gameplay, story and shared elements like Summons and Chocobos. This would be a thing for easily more than a year, because I still want to play other stuff, including other JRPGs. But still. I always wanted to do this, and it would give me an excuse to revisit old favourites.

So, is anyone interested in joining me? I think it would be interesting to have someone to talk about the games, while playing through them. I know, I can still do this alone, but maybe someone someone else finds this idea as interesting as I do. This thread is just for gauging interest, I will make a new thread whenever I finally start with actually playing anything. In a year or so, considering my slow pace.

I'm in the process of playing through final fantasy games I've missed (9 and x-2 right now), but my only problem is my gaming is kinda sporadic (god knows i love my partner, but she is really cutting into my sitting alone gaming time since the pandemic started lol) so I probably won't join in revisiting the ones i would like to play through again.

ill participate in discussion, and probably be spurred on by the discussion to join though

A couple of weeks late, but I am interested. I had planned something similar myself and I did already beat FF1 early in the summer. After that, though, I kind of got sucked into the Tactics games instead of continuing with the main series.

But when you get to II, which I've started, I'll join in.

This will still take some time, because I want to play through Jimmy and the Pulsating Mass first. Should finally continue playing, but I guess I still have a lot to play through, so it will certainly take a while.

I plan to start after that, and just make a new thread for that. Maybe in two months?! Simplest way, I think, and everyone who feels like it can just post in there with me.

I just a mere couple days ago finished FF1 for the fall class challenge. I suppose I could just keep on going with FF2 and on.

Coolest part about this is, these days I have access to FF 1 thru 12 in a handheld form! Just need to get a copy of FFX/X-2 and I'll be set. Literally couldnt be a better time to do this. I'll just need to figure out how I'll play FF13...
