I started Acolyte, up to around episode 6. It's pretty good, the fight scenes are great, although I think the scenery and worldbuilding aren't as interesting as I'd hoped. My favorite characters are Sol, Jecki, and Mae, although I think
Qimir is too goofy for me

Also, I honestly think Acolyte should've been a movie. Forget renewing, I feel like many projects go on for way too log without really establishing themselves. The pacing and conflict would've been much better as a movie as well

As for the Sequels, I think a common complaint I here is that they're good individually, but don't connect as a trilogy. It's a fair point, but I think Star Wars is somehow allergic to this, with Luke and Leia's romance in New Hope and Jar Jar being sidelined after his backlash.

(I don't really think Darth Jar Jar was true, But there's a very likely chance that he was intended to have a greater role in the rest of the prequels)

TROS is not much good individually or otherwise, imo. It is an OK sequel to TFA in isolation, and a terrible one to TLJ, but the thing about a trilogy is that the third part has to continue from both of the first two. Even taken on its own, it has a lot of really sloppy stuff (the dagger map? to wreckage?? leading to the throne room's side room that can't exist because we know what that tower looks like intact and there's no room for a room there?) and some very cheap stuff (e.g., Chewie and Threepio death fakeouts, one after the other).

Echoing what some others have said, TFA was pretty good at the time, and it holds up fairly well. I think my opinion of it dropped after TROS, just because it revealed how little JJ really thought of Star Wars as a whole, but I've come back around.

I was never was that interested in Rogue One, though I know it's very popular and I don't want to rain on anyone's parade. I've really tried with the Prequels too, and while I appreciate a lot about them, I just don't enjoy sitting down to watch them. The Clone Wars and Mando were good, but I don't feel the need to revisit them. For me, the original trilogy and the first two sequels make a great five movie series, and they don't really need a lot of expanded stuff beyond that.

Instead of endless Star Wars series trying to be similar but not too similar to the first three movies, I'd rather see more sci-fi in a similar vein that did different, new stuff. But, the gravitational pull and commercial value of Star Wars has become too great, and it's basically impossible to stop at this point. It is what it is.

I would say that most Star Wars viewers would agree that there are at least five good Star Wars movies, and that within that group, there's even a broad consensus about the identity of two of those five.

Not Return of the Jedi? I assume the full OT is basically viewed perfectly

The good news is I don’t really need to agree with anyone about which movies I want to watch, and neither does anyone else.

I was surprised how much I didn't like RotJ last time I rewatched it. It used to be my favorite, growing up, but now I'd place it solidly as my least favorite of the OT. Everything with Luke, Vader and the Emperor was very good. The space battle was good and fine. But pretty much everything with Han and the droids and the ewoks down on the moon's surface was just...really bad! It was extremely corny and not in a good way.

TROS asks the bold question of "what if the Luke/Vader/Emporer scenes were also bad"

Return of the Jedi always maintains a special place in my heart because...
"Hey, are you like me? Tired and a bit confused after a long day guarding a treasure chest, then navigating a labyrinth of 10' wide halls just to clock out? Come on down to Jabba's, where orcs drink free on workdays!"

But how does everyone feel about Star Wars: Clone Wars from 2003?

The animated one that people love? It's fine. I'm not quite sure why it's so beloved, neat animation style aside.

It's easy to like it when Genndy Tartakovsky directs some cool, violent animation.

They were jousting on speeder bikes!

And you got to see a bunch of Jedi do some really cool stuff (before they all jobbed to the Clone Troopers in Revenge).

Meanwhile as a youngster this was my least favorite movie of the three, and now it might be my favorite? For exactly these reasons? The Ewoks are dope. It's a shame George Lucas stole their song from us.

Do you think the Ewoks understood and were chill with the fireworks? Or did they freak out and need calming down/explaining like when C-3PO started floating?

did i do all of that?

I watched all the Star Wars tv shows Disney has made before Acolyte, which I haven't watched yet (if I ever do). The Mandalorian had its moments, but most of all of the shows was to me capital C Content. It was tv I watched. I couldn't tell you much of what happened in any of these shows besides a few baby Yoda moments (I can't believe I even remember that his name is Grogu). Andor sagged so much for me in the middle - it felt like I was in prison with him during those episodes, jesus. I enjoyed the two seasons of freaking The Wheel of Time more, ffs, and I can't say I'd recommend that show to anyone but fans of those books, either.

I suppose I'll check back in when something hits and I hear good things about it, or maybe if they made another Mandalorian season. There really hasn't been much since The Last Jedi in this franchise for me, though. is Rian Johnson still going to get to make his own trilogy of movies, or has that been tabled for more television slop?

The last I heard, Rian Johnson's trilogy was postponed so he could work on Knives Out movies, and definitely hasn't been cancelled.
