Here we are again. Another year of reading together almost over. As we near the end of 2025 and with 2026 looming just on the horizon no one knows what the future holds but I look forward to filling some of that time reading with all of you!

But what books?! Any books, you decide! So, if you would please submit to me four book recommendations. I will generate some lists and we will vote on them. Remember it can be any sort of genre, fiction or non-fiction. We have only one rule: No repeat authors from the previous year. And, one consideration: new books tend to be hard to source from the local library and many of our readers use theirs for copies.

2025 Authors:
Arto Paasilinna
Octavia Butler
T. Kingfisher
Shehan Karunatilaka
Lucy Sante
Dan Simmons
Andy Weir
Desiree Evans
Richard Powers

Past years readings: 2021 here. 2022 here. 2023 here. 2024 here. And 2025 here.

Going with two books I've read and two I want to read.

The Neverending Story ~ Michael Ende
Diary of a Drag Queen ~ Crystal Rasmussen
The Night Circus ~ Erin Morgenstern
Dune ~ Frank Herbert

Going with two books I've read and two I want to read.
Ended up doing the same!

Before the Coffee Gets Cold by Toshikazu Kawaguchi
If On Winter's Night a Traveler by Italo Calvino
The Joy Luck Club by Amy Tan
Death of the Author by Nnedi Okorafor

I'll use the same 2+2 strategy!

Chain-Gang All-Stars by Nana Kwame Adjei-Brenyah
A Hero Born (The Legend of the Condor Heroes part 1) by Jin Yong
How to Become the Dark Lord and Die Trying by Django Wexler
Rivers of London by Ben Aaronovitch

Edited to add: I realize these may not all be the easiest to find, so I might make some changes still; if you want to point out something that seems tricky to get a hold of, let me know thanks byeee
