It's a rare occasion when I have the time or inclination to listen to an entire album from start to finish. It still happens though, for one reason or another. My list is going to be almost or perhaps totally comprised of re-listens. I enjoy new music but it's been many years since I actively sought it out; nowadays, it's mostly a matter of stumbling into something by accident or chance.

oh goodness, I more often am listening to full albums, I'm not sure I could make a list. it looks like I've listened to 40 new albums (as in, albums I haven't heard before) so far. Plus I guess that's only counting albums that are on rym, though it's maybe only one or two that i've listened to that aren't

the list is here, though there's probably a better way to organize (and also a way to make it stop at 2021 rather than just being a rym log of albums)

I'm kinda in the same boat as pudik. I love albums to death, but it's tough to make a running list of them as discrete units the same way I log movies on Letterboxd. Sometimes I'll listen to the same album 8 times in a week, sometimes the middle 20 minutes of one in the car.

I've been managing an album-focused podcast since 2018. We actually covered I Want to See the Bright Lights Tonight last year, though I took that episode off. Shivam's been on the show a few times, and he's a great guest.

Disclosure time: Since most days I'm at work an hour or two before we open, I've got time to listen to music, so I decided to listen through the current (2020) incarnation of Rolling Stone's top 500 Albums. So far I haven't heard a bad one. Two most pleasant surprises so far were Harry Styles's Fine Line, which proved him to be so much more than the One Direction guy that my daughter had a crush on in 5th grade (highlight track: Canyon Moon), and The Weight of These Wings by Miranda Lambert, since I'm not a fan of modern country. It's a good album though, really good. She defnitely reminds me of Dolly Parton and Reba McEntire, but also the folk/rock/country singer/songwriter women of the 90s like Shawn Colvin, Sheryl Crow and especially Jewel Kilcher. Tin Man is an especially hard hitter. The lyric "If you'd ever felt one breaking, you wouldn't want a heart" just floored me.

Oh man, Bright Lights was such a revelation. Such a great work. And then listening to If You're Feeling Sinister so soon after revealed the straight-as-an-arrow line from Richard and Linda Thompson to Belle & Sebastian.
