(Wheeee!)
I read some books! Wow! I only failed my goal by one book, though.
Let's try again!

Post title explained
"Book" is overused with my entries in this thread. A book often contains one story, sometimes multiple ones. Anthologies, for example. A comic isn't a book, yet I would count it here. Pulp fiction, which I read as well, are not really books, not even novellas.

Goals
- Read 6 books
...
Yeah, that's it.

Explanation
Normal Book
Short Story
Pulp Fiction (64 pages, cheap)
Comic, Graphic Novel
Tried it, but didn't read it to the end

Now Reading
Dan Parkinson - Dragonlance - Heroes II Vol. 2 - The Gates of Thorbardin

Lol, I haven't updated for months. Not a bad year by my standards, looks like it'll be at least 35. 36 would tie my record so I'm pushing hard!

Also, there is no way in hell I'm listing all the manga volumes I've read. My spreadsheet's an Excel file so I can't look at it right now, but I've read over 150 of those. They kept me reading during a reading slump that lasted off and on for at least three months this year.

Also, I see Issun is also reading through Discworld in order, and is about where I am. (Moving Pictures is next) So many of the early ones are just a slog. Is Moving Pictures any good, because I'm really tempted to skip it and move on to Reaper Man instead.

It's okay, but it's not as good as Guards! Guards!. The main problem is that Pratchett gets a little too enamored of his Hollywood (I hesitate to call them metaphors because they're not that subtle).

I didn't get very much read this year, but looking at my gaming list I can see why.

If you don't like early Discworld, I can't imagine Moving Pictures being to your taste. Considering that it isn't part of a series either, skipping it would be a fine choice, I think.

For the record, I'm reading through the series myself, very slowly, being now at the early 30s. I enjoyed them all, to a degree, but couldn find Moving Pictures more than perfectly fine.
