It's wild to think that 20020 is actually the third Jon Bois novella about immortal cross-country football. Wilder still to think that I've read all of them. (2014's The Tim Tebow CFL Chronicles isn't essential the way the 17776 series is, but it's interesting to see how long this idea's been bouncing around in his head.)

A very impressive writer, this guy. His works, both fiction and non, have done what nothing else could: make me see the appeal of football beyond the scope of any individual game, by conveying the drama that plays out across seasons and leagues. It's still godawful television and despicable business, so I'm grateful to have access to someone who can distill it into its essence so effectively.
