I also, of course, played around in the cabin, and got further a good bit. Got the wolf card and freed him. But, for some reason, I can't pick up the wolf statue. It shakes a bit, but stays where it is, with the hand-cursor being a fist. Does anyone know what is happening here, why I can't take it? I freed the wolf of the cage, so this should be possible, I thought.
Could you describe exactly what you mean by "freed the wolf of the cage"? There's a couple things that could refer to in-game that take a few steps, so you might need to do a couple more steps or may be referring to something that doesn't solve this puzzle.

Try Pony Island. It has no cards or deck building in it, and costs only 4 bucks on Steam. It's also pretty short, something like 3 hours. Again, it's from the same guy.
I'm pretty sure that, if you get something out of that game, you will like Inscryption. If not, than Inscryption will not be for you.

Could you describe exactly what you mean by "freed the wolf of the cage"? There's a couple things that could refer to in-game, so you might not have done the specific one for this puzzle.

I loaded the game, taking a look around and found my mistake: There is a flowerpot that you can take, and I took that one first. And it seems you can only take one thing at a time, so the wolf statue was not possible to get. And I couldn't put the pot back where it was. But the game loaded to before I took the pot, so I could try and get the statue.

To be clear about where I am, I put it next to the squirrel(?) statue, which released the knife. So, curious where that is going.

But thanks for offering help.

I've heard how hard the Adventures of Lolo is and while it isn't easy, so far I'm on the sixth floor and only had to look up one solution (I didn't understand the mechanic). I think I've just gotten to "I got to look this up #2" but this is a fun puzzle game.

Maybe it's because I had already beaten it, but when replaying it, I didn't find it too hard. I also remember the second and especially third game to be a good bit harder. As is the japanese version, which has completely different levels than the one from outside of Japan.

Just in case you need more, because this puzzle game is really good. There is also a Gameboy one, which I didn't like as much, because it felt too hard.

Finally moved Anuchard off my backlog and on to my Active Log.

It’s an ARPG that feels a bit like the middle point between Alundra and Soul Blazer; where you’re a chosen hero what has a bell that can both thump monsters and also dive into the souls of the cursed residents of town in order to cure what ails them (monsters, who turned them to stone), and the more peeps you restore the more rebuilt the town gets and the more stuff you can access.

It’s also got a real nice art style that I like a lot.

Replaying Super Meat Boy for the first time since 2015. The humor has not aged well, but the gameplay is still incredibly fun. Also, I think there is still muscle memory there, I feel like I make it through parts of the game way faster than the first time. Like, I made it relatively fast through the warp stage of The Kid, which were incredibly hard the first time (I mean, it was still one of the hardest things of the game, but way more doable than last few times. Also made it through levels (bonus ones, I have beaten the regular game before, including Cotton Alley [but not the Dark World of that one]) that I have never beaten before, so I got two new achievements. Crazy.

So, maybe I'll make it through completely, this time. Except for the achievements for doing a world in one go, without dying. I got that for the first world, but, while most levels feel like dying is just your fault, there are sometimes levels with mechanics that don't feel that way. It's rare, but for example those orbs that push you away - I'll never be able to consistently do levels with them. Really hate this mechanic.

Anyway, great game, still love it a ton.

We Are OFK is not what I expected - to be fair, I really liked what I got, but I expected more Graphic Adventure and Sayonara Wild Hearts than Visual Novel with ocasional non-scored minigames. What's here is good - young adult Drama with good branching dialogue, nice voice action and really interesting characters, all wrapped up in a goregous art style. I just finished the first episode (thereare five, two out now and the other three releasing weekly) and I'm eager to see where it is going to go from here.

(music is a bit too poppy for my tastes, but listenable to my cranky old man ears)

Huh, yeah, I made the same assumptions as you based on the Indie Direct that covered it.

Playing Xenoblade Chronicles 3 and it definitely has a more somber tone when compared to the first two games. Only at Chapter 5 at the moment so I can't say that I've played a ton (I'm at around 30 hours) but I'm really enjoying my time with it. Not sure where it'll stand where I finish it, but at the moment I think I prefer it over the second game, but not sure if I'd say if it's a better game than the first.

The thread I made for it has fallen off the front page, so I just want to shout out Rollerdrome, which is Tony Hawk if in between doing tricks you shot dudes. It's super fun combo-driven score attack with a killer art style. Check it out.

I also just realized that I've been calling it Rollerdome when it's Rollerdrome. I'm a dummy

The new demo for Astebros, an upcoming Sega Genesis game, is a work of triumph. If this had come out in 1993 instead of now, I would have experienced the kind of gaming euphoria not witnessed since the debut of Super Mario Bros. 3. I would have been obsessed. I would have been insufferable about it to my Super NES owning peers. "Someone make him shut up about Alisia Dragoon and Astebros!"

Oh, how rude of me, here's a link to the latest build and the Kickstarter.

Kirby Triple Deluxe sure is a lot like Forgotten Land, only not in 3D*and with way more copy abilities. The gyro stuff is very silly, but I like to be reminded of all the neat things the 3DS could do.

After playing some of the older mainline Kirbs, I‘ve been surprised at how out consistently good this series is.

The secret of Kirby is that they’ll oscillate between bog-standard entries and wild experiments, so whenever they go back to the old well they come at it with fresh eyes.

Even the worst Kirby is still Pretty Good.

I don't like that Nintendo 64 version of Kirby. Feels like they stuck a ball and chain on Kirby's leg. Move, damn you, move!

Still very early in the game (just unlocked the second set of maps), but I’m really liking La Pucelle so far; it brings a lot of new ideas to the SRPG field, without being anywhere near as… overstuffed as Disgaea (yet at least, more junk may yet be added). Also, I think Prier might be my favourite protagonist in the genre?

She’s basically Lina Inverse, except as a monster hunting nun instead of a bandit hunting adventurer. And presumably without the body image issues.

I impulse-bought Monster Sanctuary on the weekly deal. It's a monster-catching, monster-fighting Metroidvania, for some reason, where your exploration abilities are mostly but not entirely determined by the monsters you've caught. The Metroidvania aspect is unusual but probably more interesting than Pokémon-style map navigation. The meat is in the combat, but getting new field abilities as you catch new monsters is very fun.

Like Pokémon, you can carry around six monsters at a time, and each monster has a relatively limited movepool. The similarities pretty much end there. Every monster in the game has a unique skill tree, and many of them have some really weird synergies going on, like the support cat who buffs your team's crit chance, can gain the ability to crit on heals, and can give out buffs any time she scores a crit. I think I read a review that said that if you're a theorycrafter, you'll enjoy this game. Co-signed.

If you do buy Monster Sanctuary, the first thing you want to do is go into the options menu and immediately switch to "alternate battle music," as the default has "my first composition" vibes and the alt is, as they say, a bop.

Monster Sanctuary has been on Game Pass for a bit. It didn't grab me but I did enjoy what I played of it.

Now I'm curious about the bop.

I picked up The Last of Us Part 1 since I've only ever played the PS3 version, and only about 2 or 3 hour at that. Incredibly pretty game, especially with HDR on. Still has one of the best openings I've ever seen. Some of the facial animations are scary good. I'm not sure the game is worth the price of admission if you've played other versions before but if you haven't, this is the version to have. Loads of accessibility options, too.

I'm actually replaying the PS3 version and kind of muddling through because some seams are showing this time through. The majority is still great, but the combat fucking sucks. Having played all 4 Uncharted games since my first playthrough of TLoU, seeing that it's the Uncharted engine with forced scarcity makes me understand why it's kind of shaky.

Finally beat thousand year door for the first time after buying it from John like fifteen years ago. Turns out that’s a decent game, who knew (everyone knew). Still have half a pit of 100 trials I could do but we’ll see.

Also threw fifteen bucks at sony to upgrade my ps plus for the rest of the year and clear out a few things that looked interesting but not enough to buy individually. Started with Journey to the Savage Planet. That’s a pretty good explore and craft em up! More metroid prime than subnautica since it focuses heavily on traversal upgrades that it steers you towards with quests and basic strafe and shoot the weak spot gunplay.

Also has a borderlands-ish chatty AI that’s always quipping but I find it more cute than annoying, especially how much it adores all the animals it inevitably suggests you massacre. “Ooh it’s like a koala had a baby with a boomerang”.

Fired up City Wars: Tokyo Reign last night and, despite its awful, non-descript title, I was deeply invested before I finished the tutorial. In simplest terms, it’s Slay the Spire, if it were built more like a traditional CCG And also set in a futuristic combination of John Wick and The Warriors.

You and your opponent take turns slapping cards representing elegant gunkata maneuvers into a timeline, trying to override one another, and at the end of a turn all go off in sequence until either someone is dead or another turn begins.

So when replaying The Last of Us while also going through Disco Elysium for the first time, it's a good idea to play practically anything else in between so one does not end up throwing oneself off of a tall building. Turns out that Kirby's Dream Land 2 is the perfect game for that. If Kirby riding a hamster doesn't make you happy I don't know what will.
